Canadiansnowland 740 Report post Posted December 29, 2013 (edited) It seems with the availability of online ads, working on the street would be a thing of the past. I don't recall it being mentioned here, or anybody making reference to it. Sorry Mod, didn't see it in the rule postings. roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted December 29, 2013 Maybe it isn't discussed here because it is illegal and also against CERB policies. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_streetwalkers Unless there is another reason to bring up the topic RG

cinelli 22184 Report post Posted December 30, 2013 Considering the locale and the associates of Winnipeg SWs I wouldn't even consider it a possibility.
fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted December 30, 2013 No matter how easy it seems to offer indoor and online services, there will always be street workers. New Zealand decriminalized and regulated the industry, and thought the street worker numbers would plummet once it was completely easy to do the indoor work, but the research indicated there was very little change. Sweden criminalized the purchasers, and yet there is still street work going on.

The German model seems the smarter way to go. Much safer for the SPs and the Pooners. In Sweeden The sentence for Pooners is six months in jail. So far Swedish courts have opted for fines only. And SPs are not charged. Edited December 31, 2013 by DwayneR

Katherine of Halifax 113932 Report post Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Gentleman with all due I firmly believe that donations play a large part in some of your decisions. There is not at all a thing wrong with that . However if I may be permitted to speak the people that wish to listen cool . Some will never agree but its my opinion some gents that seek a lower donation are ( as a rule ) disappointed and let down , perhaps even a bit cheated . My wonderful gents of this board , please do your homework, we do and if you read about and study our profile I am sure you will not be disappointed OR led on .We don't do this, A rule but Id love to have morning fun which is the best ! Get ready to make me happy ..... Edited December 31, 2013 by Katherine spelling
manrock 1879 Report post Posted December 31, 2013 I have been at this hobby for longer than a lot of the pooners on this site have been alive.. That being said, some of my favorite memories are of sw on Albert st or Higgins back in the day.
RRtycoon 120 Report post Posted December 31, 2013 Albert street was entertaining, but higgins(low track) was dodgy. The industry has come along way since then - for the better in almost every way.

No hiding behind fake pics or photoshop when you see them in person!
manrock 1879 Report post Posted January 1, 2014 Ya cruising Albert the ladies all had long fur coats in the winter. There was a crop of gorgeous ladies back in the day. Even low tract on Higgins had good looking women.
fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted January 2, 2014 Yes, people would come to the cities to drive by the places that had the ladies. All high fashion well dressed great looking, because let's face it, it was the only place to work if you wanted to work, outside of the escort agencies. Nowadays, with the way things are and the media, you think that only hardline drug users ever worked the streets, but that really is very misleading. The ladies on high track made high money for doing literally nothing or next to nothing, no touch, no taste, just give them 500-600 dollars and let them do their thing. I don't think all encounters ended up in cars, i think there were a lot of one hour hotel rooms available as well lol.
cinelli 22184 Report post Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) Au contraire Fortunate One. I had a lot of experience with the ladies of the high tracks in Winnipeg and Calgary and almost every one was excellent. They didn't charge $500 and they did provide excellent service. I used to live in an apartment in building in Calgary that was full of ladies, though none worked out of their apartments. But it made it easy for an incall, they were just down the hall...maybe some older Calgary guys remember the area. Across from the Mac's on 17th Ave SW. And two of them, though retired, are still friends of mine even though they have squared up and have grandchildren. BeaverFever 170 Report post Posted January 9, 2014 My first forays into the hobby were via the Wpg SW action in the late nineties. I have mostly given up cruising in the last five years or so since there is virtually nothing out there apart from the extreme low track. Obviously the internet is a big part of that but it is a double edge sword - on the one hand it is far easier to pick a girl that suits my tastes via online ads and reviews but on the other back in the day you could find those gems on the streets for far less than nowadays. I definately enjoyed the thrill of finding a diamond or rolling the dice and being pleasantly surprised by an SW but overall I am happy that the internet affords us the safety that it does despite the extra cost.
