cip392 100 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 To solve the outcall/incall dilemma... Are there any half-decent places in Ottawa to get an anonymous hotel room? I understand hourly hotels are not legal, but anyone recommend a private getaway? Tx.
kih 458 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 Most if not all of the hotels will accept cash for payment but require a credit card pre-authorization when booking. No charges appear on the card. The Richmond near Churchill use to accept cash but required identification such as a driver's license. Use at your own risk. The place is a dive. Annessa 22743 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 there are actually many hotels that dont accept cash these days. (trust me, being a gal who has no CC and who books hoteols on the rare occasion I have had many problems with Ottawa hotels) the Delta used to accept cash but has changed their policy among with many hotels in Ottawa. they also dont even let you stay in the hotel if you are an ottawa or Gatineau resident!...credit card or no credit card. I have been redirected by them to the crowne plaza...generally they put you on a key-card floor tho if you dont specify. so if you do land a room there make sure you specify a non key card entry room if you plan on having a visitor after 9pm
Andee 220524 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 There are always the not so-attractive motels like The Prestige (almost always full), Concorde, Bellevue, and Beacon Hill hotels on Montreal Road which accept cash with key deposit and some sort of ID. The only other one I know of that accepts cash (with driver's license) is the Valu-Inn on Montreal Road at Ogilivie. The rooms in the "newer" part of the motel which is basically the top floor of the building where the office is housed in, are nicer than the older part. bassnut 178 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 Ouch ..... I'm another one that doesn't use / hates Credit Cards. The Monterey Inn on Prince Of Wales will do cash but with the deposit is about $300 / night, acording to a friend and the rooms are not all that special. I had some plan / thoughts of getting a suite for my birthday but this might put a damper on that idea. I'm gonna have to look into this a bit more. Pink Kitty Escorts 6195 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 Its actually a 100 deposit for a room there.. The marriot downtown does accept cash.. but requires a 50 dollar deposit.. It is not possible to get a room without ID.. Anywhere..
hunknhot 1067 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 Just curious.. why not just get a prepaid cc and put the cash on it? or is the issue total anonymity ? I don't really have this issue as I do 75+ nights a year in hotels anyway for work so perhaps I can't grasp the issue.

I could be wrong but I'm under the impression that most of the major hotels around the city will no longer accept this form of anonymous security even to reserve. canuckhooker 19203 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 Well I can't offer any ideas on how to avoid giving a CC for deposit, but I can tell you how to avoid the problem of hotels not accepting Gatineau/Ottawa residents. Book through a 3rd party, such as Hotwire or Priceline. They pay the hotel, not you, and when you arrive your room is already paid. They would have a hard time turning you away. In fact they may not even be given any details of where you live etc. I am not sure if you can use a prepaid CC with these services, but if you did, then all your problems are solved. Pink Kitty Escorts 6195 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 Alot of hotels dont accept prepaid CCs.. The ones that do are pretty much the same ones that will accept cash.. That said, you can pay for hotels online with a prepaid..But again there is nothing secret about it as you have to show id for a pre-paid CC anyways.. Even then, when you check into the hotel they will still ask you to have a cc on file.. and some hotels wont accept the pre-paid .. You are then S.O.L. You will have to get a refund through the priceline ect and that might be an issue as well.. There are becoming fewer holes in the system..
sexnonstop724 1727 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 Hotwire accepts paypal which in turn accepts prepaid cc. Never actually tried it with a preapid cc. But had used paypal with Hotwire. Anyone want to give that a try? SNS724
canuckhooker 19203 Report post Posted December 29, 2009 Hotwire accepts paypal which in turn accepts prepaid cc. Never actually tried it with a preapid cc. But had used paypal with Hotwire. Anyone want to give that a try? SNS724 I opened this can of worms by bringing Hotwire and Priceline into it. I think you will be fine with how you pay, and getting around the "living in the area" restriction that some hotels have instituted. You may however be required to show a CC to check in, in case there are any "incidental" charges and as a form of security to the hotel. If you don't run up any additional charges then your CC will not get charged and you will not have a record on your bill.
hunknhot 1067 Report post Posted December 31, 2009 I was checking into the Marriott the other day and there was a family in from the USA for a hockey tournament. The rooms were prepaid, they didn't have a cc and the front desk asked for a $350 cdn deposit. I still think prepaid cc's are the way to go.
Tiffany Amber 7031 Report post Posted December 31, 2009 I went to the marriot 2 weeks ago and the took my health card as a valid id and the room cost me $207, including a $50 deposit which I got back the next morning without any problem. If you call and say that your coming and say you dont have a cc but your willing to give a deposit they usually wont have a problem with it.

Explore Her 399 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 The way my girls do it is : Use a prepaid CC online thru Priceline / Hotwire / Expedia and then give a 50 to 80 cash deposit when they check in !!! works very well this way
mustang19671967 100 Report post Posted January 21, 2010 if you use a moneymard credit card or any prepaid mastercard remember that when the hotel does an imprint they add an additional $200 in case of damage, so if your card has $250 and the room is $125 your card will probably be rejected
Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted January 22, 2010 Just curious.. why not just get a prepaid cc and put the cash on it? or is the issue total anonymity ? I don't really have this issue as I do 75+ nights a year in hotels anyway for work so perhaps I can't grasp the issue. Most hotels will not accept a regular booking with a prepaid credit card. The best combination like Phoebe said is to book through Priceline.com using the prepaid credit card and since the room is paid for, all they will want is a credit card for incidentals. Most of the bigger hotels downtown WILL accept the prepaid credit card or a cash deposit for the incidental charges since the room is paid for. This usually runs you about $50-75 a night. Using a prepaid credit card is close to having some sort of anonymity because there is no credit card bill being sent to you every month. You access your account online by password only. So if you're worried about an SO finding out about your hobbying acitvities, they won't find out this way. I have one of those prepaid cards but if the hotel wants a credit card with the imprint since the prepaid is only electronic I will give in and give them one of my 3 regular cards. I will give you a heads up right now that any hotel in St. Laurent area will not accept prepaid credit cards and they will not accept cash only either. If you want to remain annonymous, book through priceline with a prepaid and go to a bigger hotel downtown. They will not give you grief or runaround like these smaller hotels in different part of town. The one place that did give me a problem about the prepaid card a few years ago was the Holiday Inn on Cooper St. but then they checked with the manager and since the room was already paid for with hotels.com I just used the prepaid for incidental. That hotel was a dump anyways and I decided not to go back there again. The Westin hotel will want a $300 deposit if you don't give them a c.c. Someone here mentioned about the Delta hotel not accepting Ottawa residents? I only stayed there once and there were spiders on the ceiling. I went and told the guy at the front desk and he basically just shrugged it off like it was no big deal. Another dump that needs to be updated.
Guest d*********y Report post Posted March 29, 2010 do any of those hotels go by the hour? is it awkward to go back to the desk an hour later and say you want to check out?
Andee 220524 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 do any of those hotels go by the hour? is it awkward to go back to the desk an hour later and say you want to check out? I don't know of any that rent by the hour, but some have day rates - the Welcominn off the 417 at St. Laurent used to accommodate day timers.
Addict 467 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 Comfort Inns offer day rates. I used to work red eye travelling through towns and around the city and needed a 3-5 hour nap time and never been rejected. In this area, I only tried the Comfort Inn in Gatineau.
Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted March 30, 2010 Comfort Inn is approx $60.00 for the day rate and it runs from 9 am -4 pm. I found out about this when i had my house painted since the fumes would have been too much. I just needed a place to relax and it was the front desk clerk that told me I didn't need to pay for the full day after some small chit chat with him. You cannot book this you have to walk in and ask for this because it is not something they advertise. Haven't been there for a long long time. I usually go through hotel.com It is good for SPs who maybe only have one client to see that day or on short notice while not having to break the bank by paying a $100-$250 for a higher end hotel. Ditto for guys wanting to do an outcall. Also, if you don't want the charges to appear on your C.C. just give them the card but then when it's time to check out, pay in cash. The only reason they want your card is because in the event that the room gets damaged, they have access to some form of payment for the damages. do any of those hotels go by the hour?? The only motel that will probably operate by the hour is one of the dumpy places on Montreal Rd. in Vanier. I've never go to those places so I can't fully answer that. is it awkward to go back to the desk an hour later and say you want to check out? They know what's going on.lol. And they don't care as long you're discreet.
