so I've had a ridiculous week. Without going into too much detail ... I've been from feeling like I'd lost a lot, to feeling like I might have gained. A lot.

Have you ever had one of those experiences where you lose out on something big that you loved / wanted / needed ...(and are totally bummed) ... only to have something else comes along that's not only equal but actually better? And you find yourself grateful that you didn't get stuck with the first thing you wanted?

so far I'm not only even steven ... I'm winning. Definitely winning.

.......and then the feeling that the second shoe still has to drop...? Are things gonna level back out again? uugghh...

am I a total pessimist? ( I feel like one...)

should I enjoy the win and stop thinking negative thoughts?

or should I be extra careful when stepping out in traffic?

anyone else got an 'even steven' story? or better?

Oh the terrors of Cognitive dissonance ...... when we experience those feelings of post-purchase psychological tension or anxiety..... did we make the right choice lol... the things we do to ourselves to rob ourselves of the joy of the moment.

It's always best to stay positive . Good energy, positive thoughts does bring about positive results.

My even steven story. A while ago I went through a time when a few idiots kept posting lies and childish bullshit about me on another site. Mean and hatefulness and every time it happened I would get a reco, or something good would happen like a booking with a new client and usually a really good client, with long sessions and repeat visits.

Lesson-ignore hatefulness, accept that bad things happen to good people, we all hit bumps in the road. Move on and know that good does come to those who wait and to those who ignore:)

Positivity attracts more. The Law of Attraction is a wonderful thing or it can be a silent killer. Keep your thoughts positive and deserving and you'll attract good things to you. Go the other way....well, it's much easier to attract negative than positive.

Happy things worked out on the original thing, hope more good things come your way!

I learned long ago to savour every good thing. A day that does not involve a crisis is a GREAT day. Not just a good day, but a GREAT day.

Grab onto the good moment and milk it for all its worth, because it is true that the bad moments will make you notice them without you even trying.

Enjoy!!

I always look at life in a positive way and always consider myself ahead of the game.

But this thread reminds me of

That's the thing about life, and Big Brother, expect the unexpected.

Even when you lose something, there's always something new around the corner.

Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy, second guessing our every move.

Perhaps it just our minds trying to rationalize the situation.

I know I've been guilty of this quite often.

But I try not to worry about things I don't have control over. There are plenty of other things to get stressed out by.

I have read this post a couple times and have wanted to contribute but needed to find the right words first.

I have lost in my life, completely out of my control and, not necessarily had something better happen but, definitely something good that completely changed the entire direction of my life.

I am currently going through a loss and am still not entirely certain if I have any control over whether or not it becomes a permanent or temporary loss. It's not the first loss of its kind but is certainly the first that has left me indecisive on how to handle it. The key, and struggle, is to believe that something good will come of it and, every day when I get up, this loss pops in my head and I tell myself it will work out just fine...either "even Steven" or better.
