A man made life easy on Gatineau Police Thursday after summoning cops to his home with a 911 call reporting a break and enter.

Problem is the man was also allegedly growing pot inside the home he was renting on Chemin de Montreal Ouest in the Masson-Angers area. A lot of pot.

After getting the call for a break and enter in progress, cops arrived and found the stash of marijuana and arrested the tenant. After getting a search warrant, police seized 663 pot plants, 2,274 marijuana seeds and nearly $20,000 in growing equipment.

The man was released on a promise to appear and is expected to face charges of production of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.

Police have not released the man's name or age, pending formal charges being laid.
