There are many passionate and proud providers, that post here. So perhaps you can help me.

Now when I here the term "street worker" I envision a desperate, poor, un bathed woman who will do almost anything for cash. I've never been with a "street worker" and quite honestly only ever noticed one once when she tried to solicit me. Thus this is were the image come to mind. I know it's not a good image and I'm not here to offend people, but I'm sure their are others who don't have an accurate vision of a "street worker"

If laws on "street worker" were to change society would have to change their perception of them.

What make them different or the same as any other sex worker?

I have an open mind and being someone who does his best to respect other, I can assume that as persons they are equals and are no worse or better than anyone else.

What makes them different-the location in which they work. We are all "sex workers" and the perceptions that some have of street workers don't end with them they are applied to all involved in the profession, some don't even think of it as a profession, but as a "fall from grace", a desperate time in ones life, not a choice, and so on.

As I said in another article, call us what you will. The differences between workers in the sex industry are their titles, tags, labels, their personalities, styles of work, places they work from, ages, looks, manners of dress, education, rates, etc. None of which make any of us better or worse than one another or entitled to more or less respect. However many of our own like to give the impression that they are deserving of more respect and at higher level by titling themselves as courtesans, imo. But a title is just that:)

As far as what society thinks of us, I don't think anything will ever changes it's perception. That sadly, is set in stone :)

For me that is fine as I have always had a some what " I don't give a shit attitude " concerning what others think about me and what I do. I have to live with my choices, have peace of mind with what I do and I do and that is what is important to me, not what someone else thinks. I have and will continue to live my way and those that like it-thank you and those that don't-who cares:)

Good morning.

You may find some of your answers in the responses to FunValerie's thread "Ottawa Sun: The Business of Happiness".

IMHO we "are equals and are no worse or better than anyone else".

Actually this is what struck me for the post I didn't want to hijack the thread.

From what I gathered from it all is Funvalerie article she tries to de stigmatize her profession by looking at the "street workers" differently. Where other consider them all the same. Now my intellect is not as high as most of these ladies especially in such a topic so please correct me if I'm wrong or misunderstood.

As people I also think we are all equals but I'm looking for others people views.

Should their profession be considered the same of that an escort? If so why is the laws in favour of one more the other?
