I can't blame people for having the misconceptions they do about escorts. How could they not when this is what they read?

 

Journalists and pr people are so good at giving out no information while making it seem like they are fighting the good fight. Nobody questions them as they are established and they don't technically lie so where goes that leave us?

 

Some as young as fifteen? One. Total.

 

I'd love to know how many were giving away their money or any of the sensationalized information I've read. I have no trust for these reports and I won't until they are backed up with real numbers.

I agree Megan. It's the way the press work and it creates fear and stereotypes. It's like the home invasion piece they printed. One home invasion does not an epidemic make but it creates fear in the public that there is an epidemic.

You notice they don't say how old the oldest ones are, just focus on the younger. And the 15 year old, was one 15 year old in one location, with an older female. Ottawa's press release used the phrase 'some as young as 19". It looks like this article is copying that, and replacing 19 with 15. As mentioned one 15 year old does not make a 'some', but if they edited the pr of ottawa, then it would sound that way.

 

The guy who debunks the sporting event Superbowl mythology of hundreds of thousands of teenage girls being trafficked for sex work calls them lazy reporters. They are copy/pasting press releases, and not actually asking anyone. He has a few articles on here
