The sad part for me is not simply that the Conservatives and Mr. Harper embrace these sorts of tactics and have become masters at it, but that the other two major parties are probably not far behind them. What would happen if they not only renounced this sort of negative campaigning, but actually followed through with it? Would it be proof of the old saying that, "Nice guys finish last?"
