Miss S. Lane 67128 Report post Posted February 15, 2014 I found this quote by Robert Jordan: "Any fool knows men and women think differently at times, but the biggest difference is this. Men forget, but never forgive; women forgive, but never forget." I am not a fan of blanket generalizations, however I see some truth to this based on personal experience. mrgreen760 37785 Report post Posted February 15, 2014 Anger, revenge, jealousy, forgiveness, hurt feelings, envy, misunderstandings and on and on. At the end of our days none of it will matter. At one time I struggled with this but now I don't and haven't for many years. Life is short and personally the only person I'll ever need to satisfy is me. So to forgive and not forget or to forget and not forgive doesn't enter into it for me. If I've done my best, tried to be kind and have sought to understand.....then I'm content and the rest of it just doesn't matter. It really comes down to choice... Peace MG
Jay67 688 Report post Posted February 16, 2014 I don't think I could ever forgive what some of my relatives have done to me and my family. I've instead distanced myself from those who treated me badly and try not to think about what happened in the past.
