Guest Miss Jane TG Report post Posted March 6, 2014 The reason sex work is stigmatized is simply US (Society, sex workers, clients)! The inclusion of sex workers and clients might sound ironic, but many realities in life are ironic too!
ngate 120 Report post Posted June 24, 2014 So often this stigmatization prevents sex workers from being able to or reluctant to seek the protection of the police or other services which is tragic when these services are often available at no cost except exposing the victim and their identity and manner of earning a living to the authorities. However Stigmatization seems to exist in most cultures and societies and has done down through the ages, perhaps as in the middle ages when disease was rampant the lady engaging in a life of prostitution was perceived as being at high risk as a disease carrier to be shunned by families eager to protect the family health in a very dangerous world with limited medical facilities and where lethal venereal diseases were common and dreaded.... and of course long long before any one had even dreamed of Latex.
