for some reason I am no longer receiving email notifications when I get a PM on CERB. I didn't change any settings and can't find where that option would be.

anyone??

I think there is something wrong with the PM system,... I am not receiving any notifications either... I believe we should send a PM to MOD so that he can check it out... Something similar happened a couple of months ago...

N ow that I remember has something to do with Hotmail and live accounts... their filter s are blocking anything coming from cerb server because it recognizes it as spam.. :( maybe we wull have to change our email for cerb use...

I use gmail. Are you still not getting PM notifications?

Every once in a while - the system hiccups. I go into my user set up, make sure everything is set correctly and hit save. It usually fixes itself then.

I actually would like to check my settings, but I can't find the notification settings.

I believe what you're after is under the User CP: look under "Settings and Options" on the lefthand side of the screen and select "Edit Options".

At that point there is a section for "Messaging & Notification".

Iit has to be Cerb's email server. I haven't been receiving them either.

An alternate option to e-mail notification is the Tap-A-Talk app. I have it set up on my phone and get instant push notifications for private messages and subscribed threads. I found the e-mail notifications annoying, and find this much better. Unless there is some reason I've missed that someone would need the e-mail notifications specifically, I much prefer the Tap-a-Talk notifications.

I had to switch to a gmail account... problem solved... kinda of a pain in the ass now I have 2 emails for work but at least I get my notifications...

Apparently Hotmail, live servers have blocked the Cerb accounts as they detect it as spam ... or something like that...

I have a hotmail account. I check my junk mail often and nothing from cerb has been going there. I have been using the same email addy for years. Once about a year or so ago, I had the same issue. It randomly resolved after a few days.

It doesn't make sense that hotmail would be the problem as it gas worked fine all these years. Something must not be functioning properly here.

Additional Comments:

As for tapatalk...I used to have it...absolutely hated the app. Just a personal dislike for the way it appeared and functioned.

If you do end up making a gmail account, you can also take steps so that any email that goes to your old hotmail account gets auto-forwarded to the new gmail one.

That way you don't have to worry about getting people to use the new one or checking both places.
