Victoria Banks 21899 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 I really enjoyed Leaving Las Vegas.. are there any other simillar movies/ movies about escorts?
omehgosh 736 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 The Machinist (awesome movie!) isn't about an escort or SP, but an SP plays an important role having a relationship with the main character. Leaving Las Vegas was a great movie! I've had a crush on Elizabeth Shue since The Karate Kid.
bucky501 923 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 Pretty Woman ...that was a bit of a fantasy but one I was beginning to live with a beautiful SP I love both Julia Roberts and Richard Gere

Annessa 22743 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 The Girlfriend Experience starring porn star Sasha Grey is good. I alson love Liz Shue in Leaving Las Vegas....great flick I really liked Sasha Grey in that movie. Cindy should be forwarned that The Girlfriend experience is a documentary form movie....just coz its not really as hollywood drama as Leaving Las Vegas...yanno also The Girlfriend Experienceis not to be confused with the movie "Gifrlfriend Experience" the documentary like movie from a client's perspective. Another good flic too, however I think they give ppl the idea that the client is a sex-obsessed man doomed for being arrested
Malika Fantasy 144625 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 Also it isn't maybe not a movie but the English serie of a Secret Diary of a Call Girl is really good, at least the first 2 seasons, the third one is a bit different. Leber 1328 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 Liz Shue was and is still cute. Just wondering how Pretty Woman would have done in box office if Liz Shue was in the movie.
buggernot 588 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 Liz Shue was and is still cute. Just wondering how Pretty Woman would have done in box office if Liz Shue was in the movie. Not as successful as it was with Julia Roberts, more successful than using Barbara Streisand. Leaving Las Vegas has been my favourite 'love story' ever since it came out. Love at first sight, sail off into the sunset movies make me wretch; this was 2 people finding love in spite of their differences and awful predicaments in life. No Hollywood happy ending either. blue_eyes56 2010 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 My vote goes for Leaving Las Vegas: very powerful ... two broken people trying to connect. Great contrast between Nicholas Cage (looked like a mess inside and out) and Elizabeth Shue (so pure and wholesome on the outside but maybe even more messed up inside). I remember being overwhelmed when Shue catches Cage in bed with another woman when he'd resisted sleeping with her. Shue was amazing.
Victoria Banks 21899 Report post Posted February 19, 2010 Leaving Las Vegas is an amazing movie.. However I found the rape part disturbing and the part where her bum is cut with a knife quite disturbing aswell.. I think its one of Nicholas Cage's best movies.. Pretty Woman is okay but I was looking for something more realistic and less glamorized..? Any other suggestions?
blue_eyes56 2010 Report post Posted February 19, 2010 Cindy - love your avatar. Here are three more movies for you that involve escorts and personal/professional aspects of the business. I recommend them all. Klute with Jane Fonda and Donald Sutherland. She plays a New York escort who's being stalked; he plays a detective using her to try to figure out what happened to a friend who disappeared and seemed to have a secret life. She's brittle yet powerful; he's low-key, drawn to her, falls in love/tries to protect her (and she's a little stressed/messed up). Unusual combination and great chemistry. Mona Lisa: revolves around a driver (Bob Hoskins) for an escort. He's not too bright, she's beautiful, complicated, and disappears - he tries to find her, discovers unexpected feelings. Two things stand out: Hoskins is fantastic and makes the movie, and the title song ("Mona Lisa" sung by Nat King Cole) just blows you away because it perfectly captures the movie's mix of beauty and sadness. Hustle and Flow: about a small-time pimp (Terrence Howard) who's terrible at his job and tries to find a new path. Howard is funny, and simultaneously pathetic and sympathetic. Great opening scene as Howard lamely tries to convince a john to book something with one of his girls, who's sitting right there in his car, bored and totally unimpressed with how bad he is at his job. Maybe we should have a movie night???
Andee 220524 Report post Posted February 19, 2010 From the 80's, Crimes of Passion with Kathleen Turner. A little dark and twisted, but good. Description here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimes_of_Passion_%281984_film%
capitalman 3861 Report post Posted February 20, 2010 I've always enjoyed the movie "Personal Services" with Julie Walters. It's about a brothel in Britain and it's hillarious! It shows some of the more colourful type of clients out there too....a little racy and dirty. You have to enjoy some British humour though or you may not like it.... I was going to mention the movie if it hadn't already come up. It was a great influence on me when I first saw it, because it made kink seem okay. In fact more than okay... I was struck by just how much exuberant, healthy FUN all of the kinky clients seemed to be having. And what a supportive little community they created amongst themselves by the end. Definitely made a lasting impression.
harmony-bc 319 Report post Posted February 24, 2010 When I was a kid, my mom had a movie called Whore. It was the first movie I have ever seen about this line of work. It is really good. I do not know if you can find it on dvd. You can definitely find it at some obscure video places, lol. The video store on Denman in Vancouver had one. It is a movie about a woman street walker. The whole movie, just follows around this one woman as she is trying to leave her pimp. The woman is not on drugs and is beautiful, which is also a reality with a lot of street walkers. She does a date in the back seat of a car with an old man. She has such a bored look on her face, as she is bouncing up and down on top of him, lol. It is a really good movie about the less glamorous side of the sex trade.
Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted March 17, 2011 I once saw an old french movie cira 1960's called "Valarie" and the story line was about a woman becoming an escort and shortly afterwards she fell in love with a guy. He eventually found out about her job and it was pretty predicitable but nevertheless an interesting film.
Bethany Westbrooke 7532 Report post Posted March 17, 2011 :icon_eek: Watched an amazing documentary recently about a man who marries/cares for a quadripilegic and then has 2 children with her and then decides to open up a brothel in rural Australia, lol not with her working, though that would be even crazier. A Good Man it's called. Blew my mind! Here is the movie: http://www.tvo.org/TVO/WebObjects/TVO.woa?videoid?633032291001 Enjoy!

MiaBella 10988 Report post Posted March 17, 2011 When I was little I always loved the movie Gigi. It's an older film from 1958. This little girl in Paris that essentially is raised to be a Courtesan. When I was little, that part was not clear to me, but now the underlying parts of the story jump out at me. Great story, very sweet. Very Hollywood though. Oh, and Also Sweet Charity with Shirley MacLaine. Loved this movie. it always makes me laugh.
