SERB vs KERB

Recommended Posts

However, C is always hard in Tolkien's elven languages, so you could always claim to be a native Sindarin speaker, or something :)

Haha, leave it up to the guy with the Plato profile pic to play devil's advocate :)

Well, I guess the alternate pronunciation has been officially 'kicked to the curb'...umm, I mean surb...oh, never mind.

I am chuckling because I have met newbies in the past who called it KERB including Old Dog when he first came on the board.

I heard it pronounced SERB from another SP who told me about the site, so I alway pronounced it as such.

Considering the word Canadian is pronounced with a "hard C", it technically should be pronounced KERB.

Being new here and as Canadian is pronounced with a hard C, I agree with you as that's the way I pronounce it in my head anyways so don't be surprised if it comes out that way when I meet others here in person.

If it "comes out hard", I wouldn't mind at all darling, but it may end up soft when I'm done with it.

Sorry I couldn't resist.

Good choice OD ..... Vagyla has a nice look to it, pleasant to wrap your tongue around...but I suppose we could tweak it a bit ? ;)

I still type in CERB when accessing this site. :) I still think of it as Canadian Escort Recommendation Board and not Lyla's List.

I don't speak the language but wouldn't Italians pronounce it Cherb?

I guess it's a moot point now.

Btw, I say Lie-la.

For me it's Serb and I still type that into my browser. lol. To me, it will always be Cerb. I understand Lyla board was bought years ago and the former owner Christine was a pioneer for adult discussion boards I ( give her an applause because it was a great board back then and we wouldn't have what we have today) but Cerb and Lyla are two different boards to me in my experiences even though Cerb is now Lyla. I'm sure most know what I mean. lol.

Since I don't find any occasion to say the words Cerb or lyla in my civilian life and I only type these two words when I'm here, it doesn't matter...

In my head, it's Serb and Laila.
