Midnite-Energies 110563 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 With so many different social media applications available now, they have become the top marketing strategies for most businesses. Escorts are no exception. My question to those who actually use social media (and for those who don't, why not?) What engages you on an escort's social media site beyond the sexy selfie? Do you like it a bit personal, all professional, activism, educational, all sex related? I have difficulty finding the balance especially as I keep some things "controlled" for personal reasons. Considering much of what I do is not only for myself but also for my followers/interested persons, I enjoy the input!
Warped88 5815 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 Honestly? All of the above. I think a good mix of all the "sides" of a person (escorts in this case) is what keeps me engaged. Of course, one doesn't need to expose more of themselves than they wish, but a steady stream of "I'm available at _____" isn't going to be keep me engaged. There needs to be a balance. I can understand why some choose not to use Social Media. Outside of my "CERB LIFE", I rarely use it now. I've found Social Media useful only if I have a singular purpose in mind. Our lifestyle here, as an example, or some other hobby or interest. Otherwise, things get far "too loud" and confusing when trying to take everything in on every subject. Not sure if that makes sense???
Guest N***he**Ont**y Report post Posted May 11, 2014 It is all about balance Tracy. As you know I Tweet a bit lol! But I edit what I post I don't include really personal issues relating to my immediate family but I will post about things that happen to me personally but at a distance. I never identify my immediate location but for example I will post about my dog Cody or things that effect me personally. Usually it will be about how I am feeling about an occurence etc. I don't Face Book much with a lot of people. I may Tweet about a road trip to my followers but never about local and personal friends.
EmilyRushton 253372 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 Personally I LOVE twitter. It allows people to see another side of me (usually travel drama and some laughs). I have met some wonderful people that I never would have if I had not been on Twitter. I think it is a wonderful tool, if you use it right (as in actually tweeting). I use it also for tour updates, blog posts (since we can't post them here anymore, which really sucks) general ramblings and LOTS of selfies and random shots of stupidity.
Warped88 5815 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 Emily's post reminded me of something that I should have said... I think it's important, too, to keep it light and have some fun. I enjoy seeing the serious tweets, of course, but I'm there to have some fun and laughs for the most part. I mean my life it rather normal in the grand scheme of things, so my tweets tend to be of the "smartass" variety..lol.
kerrixoxo 33719 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 I agree twitter is amazing. I also love the fact that I can connect with other sex workers all over the world! If there is one social media outlet I would recommend to other sex workers, it would be twitter.
mrgreen760 37785 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 I tweet therefore I am... I have a Mr Green twitter account where I offer cooking, decorating, general goofy commentary and the odd selfie :) As well as a personal one that I use for commentary on local political affairs and events. Boomer 33202 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 I maintain several twitter accounts. All my follow/followers associated with this industry are basically on one, and my others interests on another e.g. food, wine, certain sports, and politics. I think this media is a chance to be a bit frivolous and show off some of your personality, and would be pretty boring if you limited yourself to things like scheduling. Also it's a great way to learn and share.
Miss Jessica Lee 43328 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 Jessica is on twitter and of course industry related boards like this one which are a form of social media ... and I post fairly honestly. I have a ton of fun with twitter, it's great for networking, industry news, and marketing. But in my personal life I don't use any social media at all. No facebook, no twitter, no LinkedIn, no Vine... nothing. When I started in the biz I decided I would only have one online persona to avoid any overlap or chance of someone recognizing me. Maybe when I retire I will feel differently, but for now this feels safer for me.
PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 Thoroughly enjoy Twitter, having over 1k more tweets than I have posts on here, it is as others said, getting to know other providers and other gents, more so SP's especially state side. Another media I use for screening is P411, which went hand in hand with twitter getting to meet some fabulous gorgeous ladies while away in the USA.
Guest K***e D****ls Report post Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) I have twitter as Kylie: https://twitter.com/VIPKylieDaniels It's a great way to express parts of my personality that may not be seen on my site. I post candids of myself and of travels with suitors, funny videos, military homecoming videos, little random facts about myself, whatever. It's all Kylie related- I speak of nothing in my personal life, no travel, no activities, endeavors, nothing. That being said, I don't talk about every get together I have or trip I'm taken on as Kylie either. As it goes in that r n' b song; Ain't nobody's bidness! haha I'm not overly interactive (ahem, almost never). I'm not on there enough for that and honestly, that's not what I use it for. It's a marketing tool and for anyone interested in who I am, I think how I do things works. Well, it works for me anyway! I tend to keep it light and fun, but I have no problem laying it out raw either when it's called for. It's a fun little outlet for Kylie. I have no social media in my personal life. Guest Na****a***mers (RETIRED) Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Twitter connects me with girls and clients in the industry. It's great to see that there's a sense of community. I seldom share some news, selfies, or anything I find amusing on my page and it gives a chance for clients to follow my posts regularly or lurk from time to time without following my account for those who wish to keep theirs private. Best mini blog out there!
