Kze1 110 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 I was going to post this as a comment under a recommendation?. but then I thought this area may be a better because I didn?t want to single anyone out. But it makes me nervous when a SP mentions fucking and money in an ad, do you think this is silly and paranoid of me? Perhaps I?ve gotten to use to the acronyms?....what do you think? Kze1 110 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 I meant more nervous to visit...... It just seems that typically, and rightly so, SP's want to be discreet in mentioning and discussing things that could have negative legal problems for them...or a client. buggernot 588 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 Legally, I doubt it matters. Don't know how many websites I have seen where there is a list of acronyms to describe services, yet each acronym is explained in detail as to what they mean. However, if a girl is too brazen in how she presents herself, I find it to be a turnoff...subtlety is classier in most cases. You watch too much American TV! Prostitution (The exchange for SEX for MONEY) in Canada is LEGAL. You can not solicit sex in a "PUBLIC PLACE" but the internet is not considered a "Place" so it makes advertising online for prostitution very much legal. Same with a newspaper classified ad. The newspaper can be sold in public but it is still not physically a "Public Place". What you need to watch for are brothels (Common bawdy houses) beeing advertised as Brothels are very much illegal (Strip clubs offering "extra's" or massage spa's offering "services" etc... are all considered brothels). Do a search on cerb here. We have covered this topic in great detail. Section 210-213 of the criminal code of Canada covers the legalities of prostitution in Canada. The legality aspect of this concerns me less but what bothers me is the use of foul language. That is why we have escort acronyms like FS or Daty. I will stay way away from such SP (I see ads like such mostly on CL) who uses vulgar language or explicit sex pictures and exchange of money for sex in her ad, but that is just my view and my personal choice and decision to make. etasman2000 15994 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 That is why we have escort acronyms like FS or Daty. Hmm....the acronyms were brought up mostly to hide the obvious from the general public. Besides some ladies and guys enjoy the 'dirty' talk.
Andee 220524 Report post Posted March 12, 2010 To answer your question, yes you're being silly. I think we've all been guilty of that at one time or another. At least you're putting yourself out there to ask the question. I am amazed at how many SPs don't even know what the law is. Like the MOD said, it's all been covered here many times before. Kubrickfan 12836 Report post Posted March 13, 2010 Hi thanks allot MOD you totally answered my question even though I asked it terribly...I'm not a great writer, and yes I watch allot of American TV! Probably a connection there. No worries ... its a fair and reasonable question, as is SA's additional point about judging the "quality of the companionship" by the quality of the ad. Mod is right in that the topic has been covered quite often in terms of legality, but I dont think that was exactly the question you were asking. In short, I agree that I would generally be turned off by an ad like that.
Maria Divina 2262 Report post Posted March 13, 2010 I am a lady who really want her "particular hobby" not at all be spread all over the place... I didn't show my face in all my ads for this (don't want to be recognized in public... with a gentleman nor my family neither...!!!) I always thought that subtility and discretion were the best way to go for everyone, especially for the young ladies who must think most to their future and maybe, their future children... Their lives will be changing, evoluting, and we all don't know what the future will be made of. Some precautions could be a wise advice to follow, but everyone having the legal age is suppose to be enough old to take the responsibility of the subsequent consequences of the decisions of today. I am just wondering how the young ladies of today will react when one of their future children will discover a picture of them when they were an escort, by example. If a girl/woman want to be an escort all the rest of her life and she is totally at ease with that, she could think about the gentlemen who will meet her and develop a better discretion, maybe this is not at the taste of someone to be recognized in public with an well recognized escort. For my part, I don't have any rewards to have to want to be discreet: I strongly want it in a personally matter. I am escorting and I truly believe this is a part of my intimity, and that's not of the business of anyone who are not implicated to know it. The fact to display at large, when you are an escort, that it is directly an exchange sex-money is not the wisest move. Even if in Canada, this is legal. I think that discretion should be always paramount in that matter. And if tomorrow the laws change? Better be more safe... (Better be sage than sorry, no?... :) ...)
