Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted June 17, 2014 The point about women needing to be escorted by a man (no pun intended) is true ... maybe the rule had changed, but the folks at Barbs explained to me that unescorted women in the evening often were there to track down a spouse or boyfriend and that could result in a "scene." One of the other things that happened is that they asked for her ID for an age check I presume, because the hallway by the door was crowded (anyone who has been to Barbs knows what I mean), I had a dead-on view of her ID (it would have been weird to look away as we were there as a "couple") and the bouncer actually called out her name (weirder) but the specifics are secrets I will take to my grave. Not the first time I've heard this about Barb's. But I've heard the other Ottawa area SCs are far less strict about it; they're OK with ladies coming without a chaperone and don't announce patrons' names when they arrive (which is... yeah... weird as fuck). tommytunes 143 Report post Posted June 17, 2014 Had a great time at Barb's a couple of summers age with one of the women who posted earlier that she had had some fun in a strip club. We went spontaneously, a dancer we asked to go the to the cr enthusiastically entertained both of us. We (the woman who posted earlier and I) then went back to my place and completely rock and rolled. A highlight.
Ice4fun 78407 Report post Posted June 18, 2014 Like the idea of bringing a lady to a strip club for a few drinks and dances before we play but gave never done it. I have been in clubs where ladies who arrived with customers have tipped stage dancers by lying on stage with money in mouth and have enjoyed that show. But to be honest.... either than bring a lady to the strip club I would rather take one home.... something I have done a few times.

Phaedrus -- as to the name thing, it was more like "thanks [first name]." I don't think the bouncer meant anything by it. Anyways wish I was still traveling to Ottawa for more adventures but that's not in the cards now.

Nathalie L 112512 Report post Posted June 24, 2014 One issue I've faced with going to a SC with clients is that the bouncers will check your ID and then say your full name (first and last) out loud to 'welcome' you into the club. This has happened to me three times now. With the gentlemen in question it was fine because they knew my name anyway, but if this happened with a first time client I would be upset. I spoke to those bouncers after we were seated at the table and they apologized, but it hasn't really changed the behaviour as bouncers come and go and I think it's in their training to do that. For the girls that work at SCs, is it possible to change that practice? Not sure how, but it's not ideal and I feel they should know better than to do that.
