Canadians are proud, sexy and cool: Survey

Canadians are a proud bunch. A recent survey found Canadians think they're sexy, cool, polite and proud of their heritage.

 

The Ipsos Reid survey also says 81% of Canadians think they should do more to show their patriotic pride.

 

Eighty-nine percent of respondents said they're proud of their heritage and 86% think there's such thing as a "Canadian identity."

 

Canada's diversity is also a source of pride, with 86% saying it's one of the country's strengths.

 

If these answers seem nice, that's no surprise because 92% of respondents said their fellow Canadians are polite and 89% said Canadians are cool.

 

It can't be said that Canadians lack confidence, because 75% of respondents said Canadians are sexy.

 

However, they're not as confident when it comes to their history. The pollster says 11% of respondents didn't know the opening lines of O Canada, and 56% didn't know that 2017 marks Canada's 150th anniversary.

 

Ipsos Reid surveyed 1,001 Canadians online and the poll is considered accurate to within 3.5 percentage points.
