Ice4fun 78407 Report post Posted July 19, 2014 I agree with the thought that the ladies should keep the information to themselves and that publishing such a list is going to reflect negatively to the industry. At what point do we condone action that may not be consider completely professional? If the government was putting a bill forward to eliminate your ability to do your job or run your business in a safe manner would you sit back and ONLY take the high road? What would you do to protect your livelihood? What would big unions do? Who are we, hobbiest, trying to protect here by saying that it's unprofessional to put this list together, the MPs, SPs or ourselves? If the Bill goes through, it will affect my hobbying but I will still be able to put food on the table, a roof over my head and maintain my way of life with little to no discomfort. What is the impact for the SP? Not releasing personal information is about protecting SP's and their income... if we head down the road then clients will have to reconsider the risks... they will not provide truthful information for screening and overall make SP's lives more difficult... this industry is premised on Mutual confidentiality... not confidentiality unless it's mire in my interest to make private info public. As I said before... if this conversation was about a group of clients putting together a list of SP's for public outing we would all clearly see the risks to these individuals and their families. This new law that is proposed is not the first time politicians have passed anti sex work laws.. or the 1st time politicians have visited sex workers... so any talk if outing people is just a threat for political expediency. IT'S a very bad idea.
Guest ***rd**n Report post Posted July 19, 2014 Blackmail isn't something that just happens in the movies. Actions have consequences and for every action there is a reaction. Donald Sterling was exposed by his mistress. Rob Ford was exposed by his drug dealers. Both guys in the photo with him are how dead. Who do you think had them killed? Several years ago a prominent Ottawa heart surgeon was busted by an undercover cop for soliciting a prostitute. For the most part the media and the public were sympathetic towards the poor good doctor. While if the prostitute would have been a real one she would have been vilified. If you dare go up against the rich and the powerful you either go all the way or don't go at all. There is no half way with these people. Besides sooner or later people find things out. Just look at the story about the Google executive. Something to think about that's all.
