JoyfulC 132299 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 I've always been worried that this stuff would feel like latex on my lips (yuck!) -- but "lip stain" sounds promising? Is it really light and lickable/kissable?
Soleil Sublime 38108 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 I'm guessing you're main intention, is to have long-lasting colour. If you don't mind a little d.i.y. lubrication, then, a lip stain is your best bet. Now keep in mind, it's a stain and not a lipstick, without any moisturizing elements, whatsoever. So what I suggest is using your favourite lip balm over the lip stain. If you're looking for a more pouty look, try Lip Venom, they've got lip stains with plumpers. So far, I've found lip stains to truly be the only long lasting colour for lips. Yes, the balm will wear off with kissing, but a good stain, applied over foundation applied to the lips, should last well beyond the rest of your make-up. Hope this helps! JoyfulC 132299 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 Applied *over* foundation?? You recommend applying foundaition (like facial foundation?) to your lips?
Soleil Sublime 38108 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 Yes Ma'am! When you apply foundation to your face, you should be applying it everywhere. Your eyelids, forehead under your bangs and your lips! This simply helps hold the make-up you place over the foundation, to last that much longer. Some even apply a dusting of loose powder over all that to extend the make-up's wear even longer! Oh, and don't worry. I am a certified Wig Specialist and make-up artist. Just so you don't think I might be talking out of my ass! :smileysmontrefesse:
A***** A***** 510 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 I've always been worried that this stuff would feel like latex on my lips (yuck!) -- but "lip stain" sounds promising? Is it really light and lickable/kissable? If you want to go the lip stain route, I have used the JOE brand from super store and it worked quite well for 6 bucks. BTW nice pic, its great to put a face to the name!
JoyfulC 132299 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 I'll send Fred out looking for it. I usually use Avon, as I can order it online -- I hate to shop! But I haven't seen anything like this so far. Re: the pic -- yeah, yesterday wasn't too bad a camera day. Over the last year, I've been growing out my natural haircolour (... a fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy!). Now I need to get some pics for my site showing my natural haircolour. Yeesh. My mother grabbed me when I was about 12 and bleached my hair (... she had a habit of grabbing me and doing stuff to me before that, which always embarrassed me, as my neighbourhood growing up was mostly boys, and that's who my peers were -- it was always really hard to connect with them when my mother would put my hair in pin-curls or dress me in some ridiculously silly outfit.Yeesh!!!) I would say to younger women, though, make the most of your natural hair colour! Don't be tempted to bleach it! Trust me, blondes really don't have more fun. Dare to be your natural selves. lena 101 Report post Posted April 13, 2010 I went into MAC looking for the Lady Gaga Viva Glam lipstick, but they were sold out. I bought the Liberty of London for MAC in the hot pink colour instead, and it is fantastic...long lasting even after the initial sheen is worn off, and takes really well to lip balm over top. Plus, did I mention that it's hot pink?

Trust me, blondes really don't have more fun. Dare to be your natural selves. The only thing I can do with my hair, is make it go lighter, via way with a frosting kit. I have done that a few times, and it ended up making my hair like straw, and it took forever to grow out. Now I am happy with my dark brown hair. Just wish the grey hairs would stop popping up every now and then!
JoyfulC 132299 Report post Posted April 13, 2010 Now I am happy with my dark brown hair. Just wish the grey hairs would stop popping up every now and then! That's why I went back to my natural colour -- I want to see my grey. I earned it, dammit!! ;) I don't have as much as I'd like yet. My husband has always had gorgeous hair, long and just the right amount of wavy, bouncy curl -- and in recent years, it's shot through with silver and looks really good! I was hoping that if I went back to my natural colour, mine would look the same but... not yet. (Why is it that men always get the best hair and lovely long eyelashes?? And I won't even go into how he can eat a side of beef, a loaf of bread, and top it off with a quart of ice cream and still lose weight. Yeesh!)
