piano8950 32577 Report post Posted September 5, 2014 As a rule, I don't give out any money to charities that come to my door, or solicit me on the street. I tell them right from the get go that I will not be donating any money on the spot, but if they would like to tell me what the charity does, I would give them my full attention. If I hear something that interests me, I will go home, research them myself and decide if I'd like to donate. I like to donate 2.5% of my net worth every year. So throughout the year, I gather information and split it according to categories (health, local, national, international).
