Julie By Night 131 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 Hello fellow Cerbians! :-P I have been curious lately about the whole advertising thing. I wanted to know what guys prefer along the lines of hiring an SP. I currently only advertise online here and on my website, but know that there are many who place ads in the newspaper to attract business. Being in a small town I was thinking advertising in the paper would draw more local residents to my services...but really I prefer more out of town clients due to the fact that this place is so small and I wouldn't want to run into them everywhere lol! I do have a few local clients that are regulars and I enjoy my time with them, and they all found me online. I also would like to hear from you guys about how much communication you like. When finding people in the paper it seems to me it is much less "personal" and you are taking more of a chance in who you are getting. There are no photos or any info on the person so you are basically getting a surprise at the door...not to say the surprise isn't good, all you beautiful ladies who advertise that way lol! So gents let me know a bit about your experiences with seeking an SP and ladies I'd love to hear about your experiences with both mediums of marketing lol! Thanks all!:bddog: Julie 807-472-9900 if in the Thunder Bay area!
Dorinda Bloom 44036 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 Yes, I am very interested in this also. I am a travelling lady dividing my time among Ottawa, Pembroke and Fort McMurray, other places on the Prairies too, but only a couple of times a year. My main form of advertising for Ottawa is CERB! :) I Love Love Love that I found this Board! In Alberta I use the local papers. Unfortunately, my small area of Pembroke does not allow such advertising. Although, being such a small town it is likely best that I only see travelling gentlemen - people DO like to talk! :-o
pjrd 324 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 EC and CERB are by far the way to go. We have 17,000 members and lots of visitors reading. Lots to go around. We recommend providers to each other. We talk to them here about all kinds of things. Providers even have a section to report bad clients. You can't do that in the newspaper or yellow pages or CL. Those places are full of bad people looking to rip us off and we never know who they are untill it's right there in our face. I for one try to spread the word around about our community here. I read the adds in the paper and yellow pages but don't call. It's a waste of your money in my opinion.
777flyer 1612 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 Being relatively new to this hobby, I started the search by using google, which took me to Escorts Canada, and then eventually to here (CERB). When I selected my first SP, there were bascally 3 things that I looked for 1.) SP Has a web-site (Critical for me ) 2.) SP has reviews on CERB (or similar site ) 3.) Responsiveness to my POLITE emails, and interaction from there. Whether rightly or wrongly, I eliminated anyone who didn't have a web site, since I wanted to read in detail what the etiquette was etc. Reviews of course are also very important to see what the hobbyists liked, so I can match it to what I was looking for Hope this helps SNK
PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 I only read the paper from front head lines to local news and sports. While at work and on the computer I choose online always. ;) I use to read the sun ad's for ladies years ago but after 2 scary incidents that was history. Now it is CERB and EC that is it :) WELL OF COURSE THE LADIES WEB SITES TOO

Guest S**a*Q Report post Posted April 20, 2010 From an SPs standpoint, and an SP in TBay's standpoint... I've advertised once in the paper... It's about 40$ or so for a weekend, you'll get a lot of calls from advertising in the paper, however, it seems to be a lot of tire kickers, or "Can you give me a description?" *(Which is fine but it's difficult for me to understand how you can imagine what someone looks like...) and ones that are appalled by 200$ an hour here in Thunder Bay. I've had more than one person tell me that they can get full service for 60$ somewhere here... I prefer the "date" in this industry... The paper calls were never dates to me... They were just releases for the boys. In and out, when they're done they're out... That's what I found, therefore I am more happy with my adveritising online. mod 135640 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 Escorts-Canada.com has been online since 1998 so it has HUGE amounts of regular visitors.... and listed on all the search engines. Google alone sends EC well over two million unique visitors a year. For what most newspapers charge it just doesn't compare... Never really caught on in thunderbay however... that one I would stick to the local paper...
Julie By Night 131 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 Thanks all for the replies! It's been insightful! I actually only use online ads and even though I am in a very small town I seem to get enough calls to keep me happy. I think personally I prefer to not advertise in the paper and stick to online. At least it gives the person a better chance to see what they are getting and make a more informed decision. But that's just me! To each their own! I was just curious how others felt about it and what worked for them. Thanks MOD for the info btw! Always nice when the powers that be join in the conversation. I like how you stay involved! Koodos! Julie 807-472-9900 if in the Thunder Bay Area!

cat 262460 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 In larger cities online advertising is a must, but smaller towns respond to print ads very well. It depends where you are. I have found that print ads bring in a different type of guest. I only advertise in the Sun when my brains have left for an extended holiday but occasionally advertise in the local paper. Responses from there bring guests who are not looking to try every flavor of ice cream, just one they like and will indulge in whenever they want ice cream. It depends on your area and whats available to you. Experiment with your advertising, but track where your responses come from and the results will tell you where to invest your advertising dollar. Multiple venues are your best bet. cat
Emma Alexandra 123368 Report post Posted April 20, 2010 When i first started in this biz i used the local paper all the time {i didn't know any better} sure i got business but most of the dudes were not the type of clientele i was looking for...and alot of stupid calls...i mean a lot of them...i don't advertise in the paper any longer i find it's just like a cl in print...but if your in a small town and have time to weed out the good from the bad then it's a good place to start... Cerb and EC are the best online advertising in Canada and the price is right.. kisses, Emma
Eagle 1401 Report post Posted August 22, 2011 I usually see providers who have a paid advertisement. I may be wrong but,I think most paid website like EC remove ads that are rip off or not accurate.
mod 135640 Report post Posted August 22, 2011 EC does remove rip off (Scam) ads and bait and switch ads. None of the sites will remove ladies just because the service is reported as below par or that the guy did not get his full hour (or anything like that). This is why the discussion boards are popular with many guys. Now someone has to complain (Report the problem) before the site operators know they have a bad apple. The directories will not remove ads based on one complaint either (unethical people in the past have pretended to be a customer trying to knock off or cause problems for competition and often stuff happens where the guy had bad hygiene, was scary, pushy, mean, drunk, etc... and was denied and decides to slander the lady) If EC gets a few similar complaints (or proof the photos are stolen using something like tineye.com for instance) the ads are pulled asap. It is not good for anyone to have bad ads running.
