Antoine 502 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 In response to an Iranian cleric that stated earthquakes are caused by scantily clad women, two women in Vancouver decided to hold a protest and flung their tops off. What bothers me about this ordeal isn?t the cleric?s statement since their ignorance is known and acknowledge by western society. It?s the hoards of men who showed up to see the spectacle. What bothers me is the fact that the protesting women are making a statement and seek support from the audience. They are not there to be gawked at. Granted, men clearly have a strong desire to admire the female form and men shouldn?t suppress that desire in my opinion. That desire is clearly proven given the billions of dollars that pour in the porn industry. I wonder how many of these men would never set foot in a strip club. At least in a strip club the women expect to be looked at an admired. I recall seeing the same spectacle in Ottawa. Even if I wanted to show some support and be present at such a protest, I would be embarrassed to appear among these men.

Carrie Moon 68826 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) What's upsetting you? Women baring their breasts or the fact that because women don't bare their breasts normally men jump at the chance to view that? In Europe as we all know it's commonplace for women to be topless or on some beaches both sexes to be butt naked. Here it's because we make it '' a spectacle'' it's something people will make a big fuss over. It's precisely this extreme fuss that some Iranian or other cultures have to create stress between men and women. Nuts! ... if it weren't for how nuts guys get over girls baring their breasts or other naughty bits I doubt I'd be in business long :p Edited April 27, 2010 by Carrie Moon added a thought
Antoine 502 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 Hey I'm all for celebrating the female form, it's my favourite hobby! Some women decided not to bare all just because it was such a spectacle and I don't blame them. What these women needed was some support (pun intended) :)
Guest f***2f*** Report post Posted April 27, 2010 Wow....there are places in the world where women walking around topless is just common place...no big deal. A friend of mine from Africa once said, "Why is it that North American men are so excited about bare breasts? Breasts are for feeding babies. Where I come from women walk around with no tops on all the time, it's no big deal. If I get excited it's from seeing a woman's genitals, that's the way men are supposed to react to keep the species going. It's all natural...why is it that it's such a big deal?" Well what can I say? I agree. Boobs are nice and I always appreciate a woman's endowments (big or small) but if you're going hay wire over boobs you need to grow the hell up! Newton 714 Report post Posted April 28, 2010 I'm of two minds about boobs: eroticize them or desensitize them. I'll let ladies themselves decide. But I grew up eroticising them and it's too late for me now! ;) Posted via Mobile Device
