Jackie James 215 Report post Posted May 19, 2010 I didn't want some hokey, new-fangled made-up name, so I chose a regular ( boring ) one. My real name is much nicer than Jackie. :D

VedaSloan 119179 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 When I first started, I went by the name Lux. When I started working for the agency, they said no one would be able to pronounce it, and to pick something else. So I went with Erin, because that was what my mother was going to name me. I've been toying with a complete image overhaul and going back to Lux, but fuck, I am so lazy and I don't want to have to continually be advertising as Lux, formerly Erin. Etc. For the record, I stole the name Lux from the novel the Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides. It's the name of one of the sisters.

MightyMouse 839 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 It says mine would be "Brock Goodhare". I chose my name for 2 reasons. 1. For a man, i'm not very tall. 2. What I lack in height I make up for in grit, personality, and intensity. Right ladies?
swegin 5885 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 They thought no one would be able to pronounce Lux? Who wouldn't be able to pronounce that? It's like the first element of "Luxury". I think the Latin words it's derived from are cool to: Luxuria, and Luxus! When I first started, I went by the name Lux. When I started working for the agency, they said no one would be able to pronounce it, and to pick something else.

sexy bbw vero 425 Report post Posted May 23, 2010 When I started in that business ... I was using a fake name ... It was Ally ... because all my friend was saying that I was like Ally Mcbeal ... a real goof ball. But one day ... I was going for a new tattoo on the nape of my neck ... so I had to decide ... I don't like to play the double identity anyway ... so I decide to tattoo my real name and now working with it also. that's it ... anyway ... all my family and friends know what I'm doing as job so I have nothing to hide ... as much that I don't go through details with them about what I'm doing. Guest ***s Report post Posted May 23, 2010 This is the perfect thread to ask my longing question ... I thought a specific thread based on changing names would have made me seem .... I don't know really. OK How do members and more specifically Hobbiests' feel when ans SP change their "working" name? As you all know I was originally Crissy Green (a name that fit me well and also that I had connected with); I now go by Taylor Moon. Why? Well, Taylor was rated one of the top sexiest girls name and Moon - because of the mystery/darkness behind it, (believe me it was a quick decision - one that I wish I had pondered over a little while longer. Why? Because if I would have known there was so many Taylors (i.e., Dream) or Moon's (i.e., Carrie) I would have gone a different route. I guess what I'm saying is ... if I hadn't already changed my name to Taylor from Crissy (for negative/threatening reason) I would change my name out of respect to the other members and because I guess I've had 6 weeks to think about it :) So my question is ... from a Hobbyist point of view - what goes through your mind when an SP all of a sudden has "formerly" written beside the name you know them as and an unfamiliar name on the other? And to the ladies .... what are the reasons some of you have changed your name? Thank you, and I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather. cheers Taylor Moon, formerly Crissy Green and now wants to be ... lol (lets just see what the feedback is ...) . Andee 220524 Report post Posted May 23, 2010 Because if I would have known there was so many Taylors (i.e., Dream) or Moon's (i.e., Carrie) I would have gone a different route. . That's why it's important to do your research, by going on boards, escort sites, etc. and googling names. I know you're relatively new to the SP scene, but for example, Carrie Moon, for has been around Ottawa scene since 2002 and in Toronto before that. She is well known in the industry as an SP and a porn actress. I am surprised you hadn't heard of her. There was also Amber Moon, who I believe is now retired. Taylor of course is popular soap opera name, so of course you're going to get girls choosing that one. Since you're on the topic and have already started to re-invent yourself, why not come up with a name that isn't common, but won't sound pretentious. I don't think the guys care so much what are names are, only that we provide good service and they're able to find us easily went they want to come a calling. Carrie Moon 68826 Report post Posted May 23, 2010 Taylor Moon, formerly Crissy Green and now wants to be ... lol (lets just see what the feedback is ...) . Personally I love the name Taylor.. why not Taylor Green? I've never changed my name in over 20 years.. but Taylor would be top on my list of choices... I really like Crissy Green too.. too bad you couldn't go back to that :( uh.. but maybe you could keep Moon and pretend to be my illegitimate daughter? That's a lot to work with but here goes.... The "repackaging" process in any industry is fraught with dangers... 25 years ago we lost Coke to New Coke which became Coke, and old Coke was dropped until people screamed and old Coke became Coke Classic... and now is Coke again. It was a marketing disaster that the company is still feeling. Sometimes circumstances necessitate change. You will still have your loyal clientele, regardless of whether you are Chrissy Green, Taylor Moon or Griselda Jigglybottom (although I do not recommend the latter.) You may lose some of the casuals but then again you may gain new ones. I think as long as you can justify the change, it really doesn't matter. On the flip side, many of the hobbyists have experienced hellish experiences as rookies with that other place (which shall remain nameless.) You never know if Melanie who became Amanda is now Rachel or Dawn. That is the risk... will people think you are hiding from a bad reputation? When you add the caveat "formerly" I think you are putting yourself in good stead... you are not afraid of the past, and are moving towards a bright future. Just my opinion... Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 When I first started in the business, the agency owner said he wanted my name to begin with an "A" so it would be at the top of the escort page in the back of the Ottawa sun. He chose the name Annick. I wasn't very pleased with that name because I wasn't French whoch most people assumed me to be and it just wasn't a good fit. I left the agency for another one and used the name Taylor. I don't remember why but that owner liked it. I think it suited me. Then I went independent and changed it to Alexa. I think I chose it out of a baby book that I saw in a bookstore one day. I've always liked the name Alex. Then I changed it once again by putting both names together with Taylor as the last name. I was fine with that name until recently after being out of the business for a while and went to go look up my old website domain and found out that someone had taken it and started a dating agency for married people. Similar to Ashley Madison. I didn't want clients to think I quit escorting to start a dating agency and I didn't want people confusing me with a dating site for married people ( it is a cheesy site) so I changed the name to Nicolette Vaughn. I came up with this name because before I was born my parents were going to name me Nicole but instead named me after my grandmother's best friend. I didn't use the name Nicole directly because there was another escort named Nicole who was surrounded by controversy so I chose Nicolette. Vaughn is actually a family ancestry name going back a couple of hundred years. It's too bad that I've had to change my name because most people know that name in the business and now it feels like I have to start all over again. They say many actors change their names when they go to Hollywood. Many have done this by taking their middle name for their first name and the first street they ever lived on to be their last name. Try it... the names sound pretty good. :) Oh, btw, my porn star generator names are Chandlier Swallows, Chandlier Madelline and Bisquette Labouche. lol.
