check me out, I'm a sex columnist!

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all the love everyone!

I am committed to a minimum of four articles (at least one per month).

I will be writing an article concerning the law and how it affects my life and I will also be writing about whore stigma.

I'll keep you posted!

*also, I literally wrote that article up the second I heard back from the editor and was apparently too excited to proofread and now I can't figure out how to edit. There were some repetitions and a couple of split infinitives and the perfectionist in me is going nuts. haha.

Congrats Erin and I look forward to many more articles from you.

I like your term "sex positivism" with you promoting the trade, I am sure that the outcome will be positive.

Congratulations Erin on an informative and well written article. No doubt your article will have a positive impact on many newbies and as a result it will also benefit the SP's that host those newbies.

I think your article should be made available in the "Newbie" section here on CERB as a sticky.

I particularly enjoyed this quote;

"Let us guide you and just enjoy the ride."

Excellent Erin....very good article. It seems to cover everything.

This term "Sex Worker" bugs me though....it makes me want to go become celibate. I mean, it reminds me of real down and dirty blue collar jobs like a janitor or labourer or something. Isn't there a better term out there in the world?

I think a sexier term than "worker" would help keep my libido working and maybe entice some new people out there! Ymmv, imho. ;)

It's meant to emphasise the fact that what we do is real work. It's not supposed to be sexy.

Congradulations Erin. The world needs more enlightened insight (and less Fox News). Keep up the good work.

Hey everyone,

My second article is up. This one is a brief overview of the laws in Canada surrounding prostitution--it's a bit dry, but hey, some people still think prostitution is illegal, when it isn't, and never has been.

What a good head! What a good Heart! And thanks for the articles and reference.

I also liked Dr.Peggy Kleinplatz's identification of 8 components that contribute to great sex:

1. Being present, focused and embodied

2. Connection, alignment, merger, being in sync

3. Deep sexual and erotic intimacy

4. Extraordinary communication, heightened empathy

5. Authenticity, being genuine, uninhibited, transparency .

7. Exploration, risk-taking, fun

8. Vulnerability and surrender

Any comments?

I can't believe I missed this! Way to go Erin! Although with your intelligence and wit, this doesn't surprise me very much. Perhaps the start of a new career? You go girl! :-P

My article on whore stigma is up: http://www.sexlifecanada.ca/ottawa/ottawa-sexlife-journal/whore-stigma

At the beginning I quote lyrics to one of my favourite songs, so I'm going to include the youtube link for anyone interested:

There is no official video, so I had to choose between a homemade video or the Chinese ballet video. I went with the homemade video.
