Meg O'Ryan 266444 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) I can understand a cancellation; shit happens. I can even tolerate a last minute cancellation; yet again, shit happens. What is with this epidemic of just not giving a damn. Not showing up without even a quick head's up. If you could take the time to call/email/text me to set up and appointment, why could you not have the courtesy to cancel???? Are there that many inconsiderate, lazy, moronic jerks in our fair city???? Once again, I find myself all dolled up waiting by the door. I made myself available and turned down other people to wait for this a-hole who is so full of himself that he did not have the balls to contact me to say he changed his mind! I had so many other things I could have been doing. Buddy...you know who you are...lose my number! Oh yeah...and before I get all the lectures about confirming, references etc....been there done that with this guy! Victoria Banks 21899 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Yeah I hate when that happens.. Especially when your half way across the city or out & about and you drop everything your doing to meet the person, then the person doesn't show up or call... and 2 other people call you for that time slot. Its really irritating...:ablow:
EmilyRushton 253372 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 The worst is when you TRAVEL to Ottawa after they have confirmed and they NO-SHOW. I do not know what is up with the city...... So sorry you had this happen....
Meg O'Ryan 266444 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Well....in all fairness the gent did message me...albeit late and after I posted this thread. The excuse was plausible but yet it still does not make up for my lost time :(
mod 135640 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 I always ask this... did you get his phone number and verify it when you made the appointment? After polling a lot of the ladies who have this same issue 99% of the time the answer I get is "NO, I did not verify his phone number" ... Just so everyone knows... the ladies who do verify the guys phone number (Call back at the time the appointment is made) get a LOT LESS no-shows. If someone NO-SHOWS on you and you have a confirmed number you have a very solid thing to post in the PRIVATE ladies warning area. Guys who pull no-shows are not going to go out and get a new phone number for each lady they no-show and they will get the point when other ladies start declining dates with them. Complaining about it is not going to help the matter as we all know how much of a problem it is (especially in Ottawa for some reason) ... reporting them will help however. Complaining about it is not going to help the matter... reporting them will. Yes to all of the above (was just about to post in the SP section as I always do). Once in awhile, complaining about it helps let off some steam and inform everyone on the board that it is a problem. And, while not naming names right out in public, it lets members know that it IS still an issue. The ladies definitely have the right to know within our forum but the others need to know that the problem exists and that it is disrespectful!
Xracer86 122 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Meg this is a good thread for people & newbies especially, to see how it affects the person on the other end waiting for the booked date. I think it is common courtesy for anyone to phone, text etc, even if your going to be a couple of minutes late!!
Guest f***2f*** Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Yep Meg I feel for you. I had it happen to me the other way around...with an SP a couple years ago and am still waiting for an apology or explanation. Ottawa has a bad rep for this and I just don't get why people do this. One of my favorite ladies had this happen to her 3 appointments in a row on a holiday weekend. I was her fourth appointment and by the time I showed up she was fit to be tied! I gave her a nice massage and calmed her down till soon she was a little happier. It's not fair gents....do the right thing!:ablow:
PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Sorry Meg that this happened to you. The gent does not realize a total sweetheart that you are, and should given proper notice. "You snooze you lose" I would say this lad has now lost.
BownChickaBown 4829 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 It's unfortunate Meg this happens, but all I can say is Welcome to the Biz. As a hobbyist, I've encountered a lot of B&S lately and try to perform my due diligence, but worse than a no show - they steal money! I'd rather they just not show up. When you don't get paid for your services after providing them (of in my case, having the $ taken without the agreed upon services being fulfilled), then I can feel your pain - but just a no show, you should be so lucky. Guest S***e Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Definitely not gentlemanly behavior for sure Meg. I've not been in Ottawa all that long, however I've heard rumblings that "no shows" happen all too frequently in Ottawa. Hope it didn't ruin your day. As a retired business owner, I can see where you are coming from. In this business, a no show = lost earnings. I am not a high volume lady and take my appointments very seriously. Having to turn down potential clients for no good reason is not comparable to paying up front for a service ie: landscaping and receiving sub-standard product. We have all dolled out money for service and been less than satisfied with the final product. This type of rejection directly affects a business persons bottom line. I had a potential 3 customers that I could have accomodated and now I have none. A landscaper will pick the best paying job and move forward and "fuck" the others. I am reputable and honorable and feel that if I make a commitment with you I will uphold that agreement. I expect the same in return!

Megan'sTouch 23875 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 I honestly don't understand the Ottawa no-show thing. I've been in the business 6 months and only experienced 1 no-show. I don't confirm phone numbers. I do the screening system Bethany taught me and it has been doing very well for me.
Lavondyss 189 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 I visit Ottawa a lot (in-laws), and am not at all surprised by this. I and others from my neck of the woods find that Ottawa is quite full of itself, and a lot (not all, of course) of the folks there can see the back of their own teeth. It might have something to do with the fact that Parliament is there, and it makes them feel semi-important.
Meg O'Ryan 266444 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Megan...I must admit that in the past I did not confirm...recently tho...I have been getting burned! If what you do works then Amen! Send some suggestions OUR way cause, well, it's getting tiresome!

Instead we are stuck waiting for a client who never shows. I too am a low volume gal so and I dont book more than a couple clients a day now...even when business has been slow. so when I turn down a client because I dont want to see them back to back (something I think the guys would appreciate as well) and the guy doesn't show up and doesnt call or doesnt answer the number provided, he may as well have reached into my pocket and stolen the imaginary $280 for the hour that I *could* have got from someone else
Athana dos Santos 966 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Ladies and Gents; What really (and I mean really) pisses me off is a gentleman (to be polite...) gives you his phone number (which I ALWAYS ask if he wants an appointment with me), you call back to confirm the number, he answers and then comes the time of the appointment and NO SHOW'S... you call back the number and no answer or says he doesn't know who I am!! I would say to some of them... grow up and be a man, not a jerk making the ladies loose their time and $$$! And Montreal isn't any better in No Show's or jerks! This is a different guy than earlier! WTF WTF WTF Is this piss off Meghan day????? ahhh le poulet...I had a new first-timer do that once...he called me to say he had cut himself shaving "down there" when i spoke to him I said no worries and he was "aww shit this sucks, I'm so sorry but yeah I'm bleeding everywhere its just awful!" I felt bad for him and thought he was nice to call until i checked my voicemail and realized that there was half a message from a minute earlier before he called saying that he was driving around my area and...*click* maybe he was shaving his balls in the car? no wonder he cut himself by accident, lol sorry it just made me think of that episode, lol.....in the end tho at least someone who gets the jitters and calls to say so like your dude did right then is doing us a bit of a favour and at least has "some" balls by calling to say they just couldnt do it right away...rather than us waiting.....and waiting....and waiting by the door just incase you dont hear a knock etc. still a bit of a waste of time tho sadly
pipercub 795 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 Meg I realy feel for you as well for I have had this happen to me twice by reputable SP's. After it happened the second time and driving in all the way from Kingston I was about to quit hobbying. They tell me to have a backup plan but I refuse for that would mean I have to cancel on someone and that is not my style. This is one of the reasons that I try to find the dream girl like you Meg who I know will be there for me when I arrive. We've only met once but you can count on many more to come xoxo:bowdown:
Carrie Moon 68826 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 No shows are not only an Ottawa thing. It happens everywhere. It's a human occurrence. It just seems like an Ottawa thing because so many girls tour here. Touring creates more no-shows because most girls touring do advance bookings which leave more room for people to have things come up or chicken out. My bf when about 15 years ago was a chiropractor. He only worked 3 days/week as did I.. which was great! but on occasion he would go in to the clinic to accommodate someone specifically on his day off and then they would stand him up! It happened all the time. This is why I know it's not specifically an escorting issue.. but of course it happens more often with escorting because guys do chicken out or an S.O. calls... It's just part of doing business.. and also why I don't accomodate special requests to dress up with a ton of lingerie for a new client. I keep it simple and sexy.. and try not to get too upset with no-shows. It's of course easier for me than most as I am comfortably in my own home anyway.. but believe me I've experienced plenty of aggravating no-shows here and in my Toronto incalls over the years. That's life. Short of doing what Annessa does.. getting a deposit... there's nothing you can do. I even once had a guy chicken out at my door several years ago but still pay me the whole fee. I took it! Some have offered a smaller fee and I take it then too.. hey I have to pay my doctor if I don't give them 24 hrs notice of cancellation so I always show. BownChickaBown 4829 Report post Posted May 22, 2010 I'm just saying it's part of the business around here, which is shady enough at times, but girls or guys, providers or hobbyists, it happens to everyone. Yes, some more than others. Not to say I agree with it, or appreciate it in any way, but I accept there are many people who lack integrity, courtesy and respect with their constant dishonesty, and I will have to pay for it as part of the overall participation in this industry here in Ottawa. I haven't been hobbying long (only since last Aug), but in my short time, my opinion and experience is that the Ottawa market has taken a big downtown since last Fall - and from the sounds of it, not just for the hobbyist. Let's hope the winds of change come soon and more ladies and gentlemen start to enter the market and the morons move-on. (I won't hold my breathe thou.) Try and have a great weekend despite these tools Meg.
