Sylvia Star 660 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 It has been quiet $ lately. I work in a spa, and no, it's not just me, its everyone. I'm wondering, is it the new laws coming out that are keeping people away? Is it the spas feeling it most, or indies too? I would love some feedback. I have always been a busy girl, with many repeat clients. And this lull has me so dazed and confused, I don't know what to do with myself. All I can say is thank the lord that I have diversified, and went from exclusively escorting to XXXXXX massage, and now adding phone sex service, and intimacy coaching to my menu.
Meaghan McLeod 179664 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 I think it's a combination of many things. Winter, weather, new laws and Christmas. My experience is that it's no different from previous December's. Still steady and busy/slow at times. Hang in there.

Ice4fun 78407 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 I really hope it is just the normal seasonal lulls as too many wonderful people will be hurt if this new law has any significant impact on client bookings. I would encourage all of my fellow Hobbiests to really show Mr. Harper and the Conservatives what we think of their new law but booking an extra appointment in December... what could be better than spending an extra hour with an amazing lady while at the same time showing total contempt for this new law. Just my Opinion Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk
WealthyCowboy 5281 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 I'm sure it's a combination of things like Meaghan said. Another lady I know has told me the same thing - it's slow for some. I add seasonal illness to the list as I had the flu for 2 weeks and know of a few others, so I'm sure it is going around again. Also, some guys in the business sector are putting in extra hours to meet year's end and to arrange time off during the holidays. Hopefully, Sylvia, you've been a good girl this year and your regulars will give you some generous Christmas $ gifts and tips.
Nicolette Vaughn 294340 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 Yes, it is very dead. I think many are aware of the new laws now even though media publications didn't announce it so much on December 6. Guys are being very cautious until they decide if and when they will feel comfortable again. What I've noticed is when they do call for info, it is only for rates now. They don''t say much. It will be regular clients that will carry the ladies over for now. I appreciate all my regulars. :)
Studio 110 by Sophia 150333 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 For you and others in Spa locations may find more growing pains then otherwise. But even us INDY are going threw it too. I find myself loosing more these days then booking. Mainly because I am sticking to guidlines to maintain my rep and keep my regulars safe. Christmas is a hit and miss, I have seen my phone on fire right up to 25th, but I am in a military town so they are away from home and seeking company. I find after Christmas to be a killer! Hang in there, and you are doing the smart thing by using all your talents and skills to give you an edge:) Always put money away for Dec10-Jan 10 I always say:) Best wishes!!!
bcguy42 38594 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 Can't speak for anyone else but so far as I'm concerned, it is business as usual except all communications are much more circumspect. But I can see where December might not have the same budget allowance for these adventures. There is always hope... January will come around!
WealthyCowboy 5281 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 For me, the new legislation will not impact the frequency of my visits, but will impact my choice in who I will see. I foresee sticking with the same ladies I know for the next few months (and also because I like them so much). I would certainly be more vigilant in looking up anyone new (reviews, reputation, etc.). I think this new legislation may make it more difficult for those starting out in this business, although I know alot of guys like ''the new girl''. It may be just me, but I believe there are more ladies in Ottawa than before. Either that or I am getting more frisky in my dirty thirties... :icon_wink:
eagertopleaze 2366 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 I would say there is more and more competition on this site, and B P... And more and more girls are being aggressive with prices and deals... So the guys may be trying new people, or trying other sites... Competition is always a good thing, because it makes people better at what they do!
mrgreen760 37785 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 Not sure what's happening the Peg but if there is a slow down it's not surprising to me and it's a combination of things I think. The economy doesn't feel very brisk at all, household debt is very high, the real estate market has softened a bit, Christmas, high taxation and the new legislation combining for a soft landing. I think this impacts the part-time player mostly but I do think every one is taking a cautious wait and see attitude resulting in even regular players reducing activity. WealthyCowboy 5281 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 Competition may encourage better service from those already in the industry, but the newbies may not be as enthusiastic. IMO, a change in supply and demand could encourage some (not all) newbies who are not established and don't have a book of business to become hustlers (out of desparation) and bring discredit to the industry. It's sad to say, but it's true. The downside would be having some amazing ladies leave the industry because their slice of the pie has shrunk and it is hard to make a good living. I am not sure that is the case though. Every market has it's ups and downs. And when one is down, another is up. Honestly, if the market is flooded with many new attractive options, many existing businesses would feel it. Even if the lady has the looks and all the right moves, some regulars may reduce the frequency of their visits to see someone else because it is tempting. Once a week can become once every two or three weeks and the lady's income stream drops. When I find someone I like, I tend to stick with them.

bellafan 11341 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 Some slowdown could be attributed to the brutal beating the stock market has taken in the last couple of weeks, just happening to coincide with the new legislation coming into effect.
WealthyCowboy 5281 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 Loneskater: I believe the thread you are referring to dealt with specifically trying to get more of the CMJ girls to come to the east end location more often and not suggesting there aren't really enough MA's in the east end. There are plenty.

There are plenty. Certainly when the OP writes in his post; " I have a feeling that if more of the popular girls from the South and West End Spa's ..." he can't be only talking about CMJ as they only have one other location besides the East one. In addition the word Spa was written in plurial. Add to that what the title was and I believe I read properly!!! And I know I am not the only one!
someguy 67067 Report post Posted December 11, 2014 I have also notice that quite a few girls that were retired are coming back to the business. And the spa's seem to be hiring a lot of new girls that are gorgeous also. I was expecting less girls to be available. But it seems like a lot more girls to choose from. It is an expensive hobby. And I have done my best to support the women here. But only have so many funds available and have gone over my yearly budget by quite a bit. Christmas is usually slow as it is an expensive time of the year and another slow time is during the tax season. I think many of the established women know that and have saved for these slow times. FunValerie 8573 Report post Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) The holiday season is normally slow. The problem this year seems to be the new law. The new law appears to have scared people. I should add that several people have called or emailed me to tell me that they are deathly afraid of the new law. Phaedrus 209521 Report post Posted December 12, 2014 I'm carrying on as normal, but I can't keep everyone in business single-handed. I'd love it if I could, but I can't. And also, "normal" for me at this time of year means "not seeing anyone until I'm organized for Christmas, which will give me an incentive to get off my ass and do it" followed by "too damn busy to see anyone". Roll on January...

CristyCurves 169032 Report post Posted December 12, 2014 There is always a multitude of reasons for things changing or slowing. I've always found Dec to be a busy month, and perhaps because some can sneak away easier because of shopping, more parties, etc. Some get bonuses this time of year as well. This fall was different for me though, It was quieter than expected. I never think it slows due to competition, more girls or question myself. No matter how many girls there are those who are attracted to me and like me, will continue to do so no matter the numbers and the same applies to all of us. It slows in conformity to other things, always. A slower economy, laws changing, higher debts loads, job loss. What affects the economy will affects us. Having a nest egg to rely is a must and is staying positive. I've been in and out of this business many times. It always has it's lulls, you just have to wait it through. On the quiet days volunteer, pamper yourself a bit more or do something else that you love and soon it'll be busy again and you'll be wanting a break:)
Guest ***y****9 Report post Posted December 12, 2014 I'm too scared. I will wait 4 to 6 months to see what happens. Otherwise it is my 2 regulars and I won't try anyone else. I'm especially nervous of spas. Too many people buying and selling sex in one place. I know there are a million threads about whether its safe or not, but I'll wait. I can compare last year, same time of December, number of appts, income, etc almost exactly the same. For the OP, it is possible that weather and 'newness' contributed to being busy busy. You might find that things plateau once the shiney penny newness rubs off. there is a certain percentage of clients who only see sps once or twice, when they are new. They rarely return, and the total # of clients in a month drops once they've all shown up lol
