Kate von Katz 49953 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 Nothing will shock me anymore with this tourny. I hope Germany will win, but I can't say that with any assurance or absolutes. Either way, I'm still getting calamari - it's not uncommon to find in eateries in Spain. Posted via Mobile Device
Capital Hunter 18263 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 Came home early just for this. Very exciting first half. Hope Spain wins (I predicted Spain will win the world cup in 2010).
PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 know your soccer nice prediction from the get go! Spain has a great shot at it this year, and I fully expect them to make semi-finals.
Capital Hunter 18263 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 Spain Scored:D ... YAEH. Spain 1 Germany 0 Only 15 minutes to go Additional Comments: - Match just ended Spain was a much better team than Germany and if it wasn't for the idiot selfish Spanish Player (Pedro) it would have been 2 to 0 in favor of Spain). Spain will defeat Netherland:). So, I am almost there in my original prediction. My pick for 2010, is Spain. They have been doing quite well.

Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 That was possibly the worst performance by any team in the World Cup to date... I don't think that Spain was that good... Germany was just that AWFUL.
PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 Totally agree, for a semi final match both teams played poorly,it was like they afraid to get on the offensive attack. I hope Netherlands are ready to play on Sunday and win it all! GO ORANJE!
HarveySpecter 1908 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 That was possibly the worst performance by any team in the World Cup to date... I don't think that Spain was that good... Germany was just that AWFUL. Its the way that Spain plays that made Germany look awful in the way they played. Spain have that spinning-merry-go-round type of way playing football that puts their opponents game plan in disarray.

Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 BB... Spain's play did thwart the Germans, but watching them was painful. They did not play with any aggression and when the ball was in the defensive zone they seemed timid, afraid to commit... that allowed the Spaniards to run roughshod over and over again. The balls in the offensive zone were also tentative, like they were waiting for perfection to happen instead of creating chances. Overall I was really disappointed in the play today... Kate von Katz 49953 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 The better team won, and yes, I think both sides could have stepped it up. Not the nail-biting, edge-of-my-seat game I was hoping for. Oh well... consolation calamari here I come!! :-) Posted via Mobile Device
HarveySpecter 1908 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 Well the game sucked, far too much merry-go-round...lol that was how they won the european championship and no one has stopped them since well the U.S and switzerland. I expect a nasty match up with Dutch but the dutch taking more risks has the play the same way but are much more direct when attacking hence they should win on sunday. Well I'm hoping so, if you are on the offense you must attack, all that pretty shit does not work out, you have to be the aggressor, but also maintaining the smarts to do so. Kate von Katz 49953 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 I think the final game against the Netherlands may be much akin to so many other games we've suffered through. Let's face it, even the former underdog teams are competing on the same level of skill and tactics as the old titans. That makes for a lot of stalemates, broken only by brief glimmers of brilliance. Hardly any of the games in the tourny this year have been exciting through-and-through. I hope for a titilating game on Sunday, but I am prepared for another bout of relative equality. daddio 2704 Report post Posted July 7, 2010 Before the WC began I was looking for a Spain v Argentina final. Spain have made it and look good enough to beat Holland
Amanda Bella 421 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 :handjob:According to the stereotype i would say, Spain will win! Leber 1328 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 Team Spain plays better today. Tis separates the men from the boys. Team Germany is young and has the inexperience to go with that also. Go Spain go!
daddio 2704 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 "Well the game sucked, far too much merry-go-round...lol" I disagree - I think the way Spain played was a masterpiece of strategy and tactics. They sucked Germany into dropping way back into defence trying to absorb Spain's forward movement and making Germany chase the ball. That kind of game takes a huge amount of concentration on the part of everyone of Germany's players. In the second half Spain immediately stepped up the tempo and really had Germany on the back foot and it was only a matter of time before the pressure would yield a Spain goal. Sure, Germany created some chances after they had gone a goal down and they played with a much higher tempo with more penetration. If they had played that way from the start, instead of being so defensive, it might have been a different game - but that's where experience and tactics come in.
