Annessa 22743 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 peeler, striper, dancer, erotic dancer (i like that one)....what a lady chooses to call herself is her right....the rest is definitely semantics. same goes for hooker, prostitute, escort, whore etc etc...if a lady decides to refer to herself as one and has no issues about being redefined, it shouldnt be up to anyone to correct her. I used to have a problem with some words and now am owning up to the fact that we all are what we are....as long as we are allowed to be called what we want to be called under the right intentions :-)
Guest S****an Report post Posted June 13, 2010 Some time ago I came across the term "ecdysiast" used for exotic dancers, which I kind of like. It comes from the latin "to molt or shed skin". Funny it hasn't caught on, lol. I did think about starting an "Ecdysiast appreciation group" on here, but I think Cato and I would have been the only members. :)
Capital Hunter 18263 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 I had already stated that the use of the term "corrected" them was wrong of me and apologized for that so I am not sure why it was brought up again. And I apologize again to clarify further that I am sorry for the use of incorrect word and not clarifying in my first post that in those two cases they were my close friends. The lady has the full right to choose the term for herself of course with the exception of the case when the young ladies became my girlfriends and then I think that in these cases I had a say too as when I wished to introduce them to my family and friends (or they refer to themselves in front of my family and friends), I would like to refer to my girlfriends as dancers rather than strippers as I personally have a problem with latter term (not a problem with their job just the latter term used to define their job) and that is my right too (we gents have some rights too). I think that nude dancing is an art and skill rather than a sexual term which in my view the term stripper implies. As I said in those two cases we were having a friendly conversation and kissing and hugging (one case at my home and the other in the SC where I went to pick her up and decided to order food) when she called herself a stripper and I said, darling you are a nude dancer, not stripper, and we both laughed and no one was offended (in both cases). Another girl (when I referred to myself as teacher) corrected me that I am not a teacher but a prof (10 years ago I started teaching at a university soon after 10 years of study and graduation, for a couple of years) because when she wished to introduced me to her friends this was the term she preferred to use. So friends have a say in this terms too when they become close friends and if they are so easily offended then they should not be friends at the first place. Anyways these are my views and I have the right to have views too.
PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 I have not frequent a SC in a long time. But back in days we always were entertained in the clubs by "The next lady on the stage, please welcome the lovely _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "! We would say that we would meet at a Strip Club " >insert club name<" We would call the lady by her first name, for a table dance or a dance in the CR. However the terminology used was always used "stripper or dancer" I don't recall ever calling a lady a "peeler". The only pictures I had ever saw back then was the posters, or in fact you would see ad's in paper of coming " featured attractions" I can also share a funny story, when I was working for a company I came by an application from a lady. She listed her last/recent employment, she actually stated on her application "Adult Entertainer". Needless to say, I brought her in for a interview;) I don't think that the ladies that work at SC's would in fact enjoy having their photo's in a data bank, my take on it. Tulsa 130 Report post Posted June 20, 2010 Hi, I am an exotic dancer as well as a SP (escort). I would have a problem with both. I have a website for as an SP. It has pics on it and alot of guys I'm sure (even though I can't prove it, of course) use them, and their PALMS to satisfy their needs instead of hiring my services. I would imagine the same would be true if my pics were posted on a site dedicated to the exotic dancing world. Why go pay $7.00 a beer + $10.$20 a dance to get their rocks off when they can by a 6 pack for the same price and stay home, look at my pics and get off. So no I wouldn't be down for that for sure. Thank you for publishing my comment, and for you readers, reading it. Tulsa xox

People who go to strip clubs and frequent escorts, have desires beyond there PALMS can provide, so I feel that argument is a bit moot. btw your super cute tulsa! :motion:
Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted June 21, 2010 I do think that the original part of the thread was missed somewhat by Tulsa... it wasn't a request to have (all apologies to Antlerman) kleenex material, it was indeed an attempt to see who was appearing where and when... and perhaps a portfolio of non-explicit material to whet the appetite as it were. That being said, we do have a few here that will publish their photos and appearance venues... so all we have to do is pay attention!
