Guest W***ledi*Time Report post Posted June 13, 2010 Not a sex story, but still fun: http://www.cbc.ca/canada/nova-scotia/story/2010/06/12/ns-world-naked-bike-ride.html Heads were turning in downtown Halifax on Saturday as about 30 naked cyclists rode through the city. World Naked Bike Ride Day was held in cities around the globe, including at least six in Canada. In Halifax, it was held in co-ordination with the Bluenose Naturist Club. Halifax organizer Tom MacDonald said the "skin-only cycle" is intended to promote bicycling as an alternative to cars and other oil-dependent modes of travel. Local politicians need to create more bike-friendly infrastructure for the growing number of cyclists, he said. "In terms of the message to the general public, I think that I want to get out that cycling is fun and that there is a vibrant cycling culture in Halifax," MacDonald said. Being naked, he said, generates interest and makes people feel good at the same time. "There's nothing like it. It's the wind on your face, the realization that your body is beautiful, no matter what it looks like, and that everyone will accept you for what you look like," MacDonald said. "Also, the breeze against the parts of your body that don't normally feel the breeze really titillates your senses, because you're not used to it." This is the third year that World Naked Bike Ride day has been observed in Halifax.
