For those not in the know, I'm a PhD student at York, which means I am also a TA. The union for York contract faculty, TAs and GAs is currently on strike, which means I am not receiving TA pay. To receive strike pay, I have to picket a minimum of 20 hours a week which I am unable to do because of a back injury from a high school car accident.
