Saint John police, groups seek federal help to fight sex trade

Recommended Posts

I've been reading these articles. The federal funding doesn't kick in until may or june, and it's a crap shoot to see who gets what. I want to see if the feds put their money where their mouth is. Criminal legislation isn't the answer and it seems like the police realize this

I'm trying to wrap my head around the LE firm conviction there are 30 to 50 (max) 'escorts' in the city, while also suggesting all 30-50 are drug addicted and probably working on the streets, not actually 'escorting'.

I'm like either the writer of the article is really bad, or LE is really a bad liar. But in any case, if there are 'only' 30-50 they want off the street so badly, I am at a loss as to why they need a lot of funding to do that. We are, of course, assuming these 30-50 want to be rescued, and aren't actually putting up a fight about it?
