richardsampsonxo 674 Report post Posted July 2, 2010 I know the chances of local girls on CERB is low, and I know we aren't going to get many, if any, touring SPs here, So my question is to the few local guys on here... Are there ANY local yellowknife girls doing the SP thing? Any contact info would be great. Thanks! Posted via Mobile Device

Straycat2 100 Report post Posted August 8, 2010 Nothing, absolutely nothing. There was one girl I talked to last year said she was going to open shop, but ended up changing her mind. I'm looking forward to taking a trip to Edmonton soon.
richardsampsonxo 674 Report post Posted August 9, 2010 That's horrible. I know there are lots of guys with money here, maybe its the small town vibe I guess. Keep yours ears open, let me know and vice versa. Maybe some the Harleys girls have a secondary job? Some aren't worth the time, but there are some gems... Cara Silver 32413 Report post Posted August 21, 2010 Hey guys, Is there alot of opportunity for other work as well? In the teaching/customer service arena? What's the job market like up there? xoxo Amelia
richardsampsonxo 674 Report post Posted August 23, 2010 There are a lot of opportunities in Yellowknife. There are a number of schools (public, catholic and montessori), as well as learning centers and a semi community college. There are a number of stores and services. There are three diamond mines always hiring people in various non mining positions. There are two large government entities (Government of Canada and the GNWT). It is often said that there is more work then there is people here. People find it intimidating... But times are changing. The boundries are expanding, there are new housing developments every year, more and more businesses are moving here. We aren't a major city and might never be, but the base income in a Yellowknife home far exceeds that of comparable southern cities. Come visit maybe? ;) Posted via Mobile Device
Cara Silver 32413 Report post Posted August 31, 2010 I've always wanted to live up North. There's a kind of crazy magic that won't let you go. I was in the Yukon for a three-week road trip and loved every minute. Also, I love the cold! I'd love to go up North again. There doesn't seem to be much opportunity for escorting though! :(
