RobX 2084 Report post Posted July 3, 2010 The CERB posting rules clearly state that links to other review sites and escort directories are NOT allowed. However, does CERB allow quotes from other review sites, regardless of whether the review site is mentioned or not? Does it depend on the content of the quote - ie. whether it is positive or negative? As a concrete example, there was a recent posting on a couple of review boards by a retiring SP, attacking hobbyists. Would it be against CERB rules to quote this posting for the purpose of initiating a discussion on CERB?
Seymour 3970 Report post Posted July 3, 2010 CERB is meant to be a "positive and friendly environment for all" - so posting the content of a debate, or someone trashing another individual or group is likely not in keeping with the CERB culture. Just my two cents but the best authority on this are the mods. Cheers.

Besides what exactly would be the point of such a discussion?
fortunateone 156618 Report post Posted July 3, 2010 Yes, as I understand them it would be a violation as it is a negative discussion. Besides what exactly would be the point of such a discussion? Good comment. In addition, it has been indicated quite clearly the thread the OP is mentioning was not even written by an sp but by someone who had access to her account, and an axe to grind. So using it as an example of how sps think even just as a discussion topic is pointless.
PistolPete 61421 Report post Posted July 3, 2010 Seems to me that someone always has an "axe to grind" on those other boards. That is why I like it so much more here! fortunateone said it right "pointless" besides it would not be a discussion it would be a inflamed argument. mod 135640 Report post Posted July 4, 2010 I also think those types of threads should stay on those sites. Everyone knows what those sites are and if they like that kind of stuff they can have memberships on both sites. A lot of our members are here cause they don't care to read all the trash talk and want to just enjoy the good. I like what Seymour said "keeping with the CERB culture" why bring it here. RobX 2084 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 (edited) Yes, as I understand them it would be a violation as it is a negative discussion. Besides what exactly would be the point of such a discussion? The replies to this thread clearly indicate that quoting a negative post from another site is NOT acceptable on CERB. (NOTE to Mods: I appreciate that you recognize that this applies regardless of in what region of Canada the original posting was made). As to the point of such a discussion, I cannot elaborate since we have determined that such a discussion would not be appropriate on CERB, but suffice it to say that the posting in question raised doubts with respect to the nature of the relationship between SPs and clients. I still believe that the issue is worth discussing, but I will respect the culture of CERB, and will NOT raise the issue here. mod 135640 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 Or, you can start a conversation about the topic without bringing quotes from another site and the negative context associated with the posts. If it is an all around negative discussion topic it's best to not post. Use good judgment here before posting.
Grass_Hopper 18263 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 I do believe that CERB is one of a kind to be able to keep it up with only positive topics, and does not need negative content...
