That said I will not be supporting Mr. Harper. Sent from my Passport using Tapatalk
Triple HHH 12345 Report post Posted March 16, 2015 On the Island I can see the same result as last election 3 Liberals getting elected With 1 Conservative Gail Shea. Overall I don't think the party we have in now will be defeated unfortunately.
oldblueeyez 15475 Report post Posted March 16, 2015 I can't believe I'm saying this, but since Canada seems to be navigating hard global economic times fairly well, I wouldn't be dismayed to see Harper remain in power. I'd rather Harper had a balanced Middle East policy, was less pro-American, did not give more powers to police/CSIS, had not made it so hard on us guys and gals, etc., but in the end it's our financial security that matters. I see no better option. Not much to choose from. lol Trudeau's father gave us the Constitution which bedevils those who try to change our society too much. I'm sure Harper curses Pierre Trudeau on a regular basis. :)
Boomer 33202 Report post Posted March 16, 2015 I am not a Harper fan and think there is still an opportunity to defeat him, so I think it's rather presumptuous to give him the election at this point. There is an assumption that he'll win it on the economy, but he has delayed the budget for a reason, probably because revenues aren't as expected. Oil was sub $44 today, and even the export market hasn't expanded even as we now have an 88 cent dollar. I don't see him balancing the budget as promised. Between now and the election call there are a few potential problems. The Duffy trial will start to shine the light on their ethics again, they will extend the mission in Iraq, and say there is another casualty, or heaven forbid a soldier captured. And there will be a campaign, this time I think the Liberals have more money to mount a better try. Can the NDP fend off the Conservatives in Quebec. And there is the usual debate, strange things can happen there.

cinelli 22184 Report post Posted March 17, 2015 He likes to take credit for our relative financial stability. He likes "talking down" to other countries to the point of provoking a rant from a Spanish diplomat at a G20 conference...Harper is a condescending twat. Most of all though, he is a fraud and a hypocrite. When he was in opposition he actually wanted our banking regulation harmonised (his words) with the USA. That would have meant a disaster for us as well during the financial crisis of 2008. So he takes credit for banking regulations that he actually fought to remove. What a fucking goof. Problem is, people believe all the BS he is spouting.

I suppose I'll go for whoever is the most environmentally pro and respectful towards animal rights. So perhaps I won't be voting:(

oldblueeyez 15475 Report post Posted March 17, 2015 He likes to take credit for our relative financial stability.. Who else should take credit for it? The world is still in the middle of the Second Great Depression, and that is why we're (NATO) poking the Russian Bear; we need a huge war. Problem is, the Chinese Dragon is with the Bear. Big problem. It doesn't matter who's in power. We're an American puppet state and any pretense of democracy is simply an illusion. The West/NATO is becoming the Soviet Bloc of the 70s/80s. Believe it or not, we are the global bad guys. But of course nobody believes that because of our social conditioning. It hasn't been Russia or China invading various countries for the past while, now has it?
LadiesFirst 848 Report post Posted March 17, 2015 Do you like pepperoni pizza? To be honest I prefer works with banana peppers. A few weeks back a friend and I were faced with this issue. He said he was picking up pizza "what topping s?" He says "just pepperoni". Well I encouraged him to do half in works and banana peppers, the result, it was just better, he agreed. I enjoyed the simplicity of the pepperoni; he liked the heat, the aftertaste sizzle, of the pepper. It was better because both parties decided. I like my government to be a product like my pizza, with input from both parties. I prefer no party to have too much power, no one party should dictate what everyone eats. I have always thought it was the market and economy, and most of all its our people, that writes the history books on Canada's leaders, basically that the prime minister and political party is the " tail" not the "dog" So for me a minority government is a "win" and it could go either way but I believe the liberals will make gains at the expense of both conservative and NDP.

loopie 15358 Report post Posted March 17, 2015 I don't think Trudeau can simply walk into power on the strength of his charm and vague positive slogans. I think at this point, Trudeau really does have to make a case for himself, and I don't see him doing it. Right now, I get the feeling that even if he won, he would just continue Harper's policies and the only difference would be that he would sell it all with a warmer public image. Harper is a sly dog, and during the campaign he'll press Trudeau for specifics that Trudeau either won't have, or won't want to put forward for fear of criticism. I tend to think we're getting Harper: Round 4.
yogibear 402 Report post Posted March 17, 2015 Well I definitely hope the conservatives come back in. Not interested in the NDP's socialist agenda. And Trudeau has no idea what he's doing, every time he opens his mouth it to jam his foot in deeper. (the budget will balance itself?)
carlosage 1004 Report post Posted March 18, 2015 Harper and the Conservatives have to go! As a form of poetic justice, I'd love to have sex with a hot lady on Peter McKay's desk with a copy of C-36 on there! LOL

Two Thirty 1422 Report post Posted March 18, 2015 Harper minority, and maybe even a majority if Trudeau keeps shooting from his lip, which is quite possible with Harper campaigning on peoples' fears and laying out wedge issues for Trudeau to trip over. roamingguy 300292 Report post Posted March 21, 2015 Frankly I hope for a minority Liberal, NDP or Conservative government Minority governments need the Opposition, they need to work with ALL of Parliament But I hope that Harper, MacKay and Joy Smith (her first name is a lie, can't believe there is any joy from her...but I digress) get booted out as MPs And I lied, I don't want the conservatives back in at all But a minority Liberal or NDP...works for me RG
