So please ignore the poetic title to this thread. I grabbed it from someone else cuz I thought it was so absolutely true. I can't walk down the street without a theme song - be it Mission Impossible or Pink Panther...I always got a song in my brain.

I'm interested to know what is your absolute most favourite song in the world. I was raised in the 60s, so of course, the Beatles/Stones/Who and every other frigging British Invasion group are up there for me.

There are absolutely great Canadian voices out there - KD Lang, etc....

What is the song you will sing to the end of your days?

Great thread!!!!

I have a few that always grab my attention whenever they come on the radio.... and I will never change stations when any of these come on....

Can't Buy Me Love/I Wanna Hold your Hand - the Beatles... I think of all the Beatles songs, these have shown their vocal abilities and harmony skills... classics.

What the World Needs Now - Jackie DeShannon... I don't know why, this is just one of those songs that hits me. I met Burt Bacharach about 15 years ago and told him about it, he was really appreciative of the support.

Meglio Stasera - Fran Jeffries... this one is obscure, but it's one of those songs that embodies the sound of 1960's lounge music.

Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer - Nat "King" Cole ... another one of those songs that floods back childhood memories.

Wheel in the Sky/Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' - Journey... ahh misspent youth. This was the music of summer and my last teen years....

Kiss on my List - Hall & Oates ... the summer of my millionaire girlfriend (okay it wasn't hers, it was her dad's millions).... she was without a doubt the absolute BEST kisser of any girl I ever dated.

Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind & Fire ... try to stand still when this song comes on...

Dreamer - Supertramp ... a high school song that just hits home.

Evil Woman - ELO ... okay, it reminds me of the ex wife....

Tempted (by the fruit of another) - Squeeze... one of those songs that helped me move on when times were bad.

Misunderstanding - Genesis .... another song about love lost....

I should stop now... but there are more....

Ahhh, ok - I'll try and narrow it down to one.

I was going to try and say I Get a Kick out of You and mention Stairway to Heaven...but I thought - nawww, Don't be Cruel. So I leaned back in my easychair and kicked off my Blue Suede Shoes so I could set a spell and think about my Man From Uncle, my uncle - A Man Named Jed. It's a funny story, he could barely keep his family fed, and then one day while shooting at some food; up from the ground came a bubbling crude. Oil that is...Texas Tea.

Speaking about tea, I was thinking about my trip to Liverpool and my trip using a Ferry cross the Mersey. I met a crazy chick who almost fell overboard. I saved her at the last minute and the only thing she said was: You Really Got Me. She wrote me a very nice thank you note that started with: To Sir With Love". Ahhh, A Day in the Life of a traveller, but I didn't let it get me down, It's Getting Better, I thought.

So, my most absolute favourite song in the world?....drum role please....

I'm Fixing a Hole....bloody &*$%ing chipmunks chewed through my garage door weather strip again grrrrr!!!
